Rain has begun in San Marcos and it's COLD outside!

For sure it will snow tonight in East County hills (Alpine +).

    Balljoint seperator?
I have one, it's in the truck, drop by the shop if you like. If it's easier you can get a loaner from vatozone. It's free unless you keep it and then it's only like 8 bucks, that's how I got mine

Nice! I had no clue. I'm from Houston, probably below sea level. Actually more like 47'. But snow here is probably like SoCal, very rare.

I have been to Houston, was very humid when I was there on business... being near the Gulf of Mexico is no doubt why.

San Diego County is pretty great, humidity is rare... only when a tropic storm is over Baja California (to our south) or Arizona (to our east). The rest of the year is quite pleasant and rain comes in the winter and spring, but not a lot and sometimes not enough to refill the lakes (reservoirs) we have in the hills and mountains (created by dams built 100 years ago, thank goodness).

Snow is usually limited to our mountains. Palomar or Julian at 5,000', and Laguna at 7,000' have paved roads up to and is where we go to play on the few days a year there is snow on the ground.

Typical view of East County with snow beyond El Cajon on Laguna Mountain we enjoy maybe 2-5 days after it snows:

On a rare really (for us) cold storm, we get some snow down to 1,500' (as this morning) which is higher than the cities and most towns in the county. Once (in 1967) we had a freak storm that dumped snow all over the county and even on the beach! I was 10 and my mom let me stay home from school and I built a snow man... we lived about 5 miles from the ocean then. A little snow fell again in '87 when I was living near Escondido.

Here is near Pine Valley in Feb., 2011 with the SoCalTacomas:
