I had similar gap issues, but on my new Ford Superduty. I did not take any pictures or give them time to "settle". I returned them for the Husky X-Act Contour liners for a little bit more money and was very pleased with their product. I found the Weathertechs to be slick, which was a concern for when I was in and out of the truck while plowing. The Huskys were a softer, more pliable material with better traction.

My guess is the variation is due to irregular cooling during the injection molding process. Ideally the plastic cools completely before being ejected from the mold. Due to production constraints or faulty/blocked cooling lines in the tooling, this isn't always the case. If hot parts come out the mold they'll likely be deformed or lose their shape cooling on a storage rack.

(my background: mechanical engineer in the quality engineering division of a large Japanese automaker  )

Regardless I hope mine fit better, they should be delivered tomorrow!

just 2 twist style posts and two holes on the mats

Just a poor design on weathertechs fault

Ive had wt mats on 2 other vehicles and they were awesome but not on the 12 and newer tacomas

Just put mine in last night and the drivers side has a gas but pass side is fine, the seat hits the lip of the rear mat when all the way back, I'm a bit disappointed

I just got a set of these for Christmas, they fit and feel great. Imo better than the weathertechs without a doubt. I'm surprised more people here haven't gotten them, I thinka lot of people just follow the crowd and get what they hear most people get.

im really sorry for doing this

fyi i just got these and the center of the mat needs to settle as they shipped in a flat box but the edges contour perfect! Installed in less than 5 seconds from box to truck. These mats are real rubber and feel great!

It's one of the downsides to a tight knit community like TW. Very minor downside. A product can get popular and people become unwilling to try a different product or offer true unbiased reviews.

You see it in Wet Okoles, BFG AT (which isn't just an issue on TW), Weathertech and a few others.

Those look good, I like the rubber thicker feel to them.

The "gap" issue is simple to fix:

Option A: Take them out and bent them the opposite way by hand
Option B: Take them out and flip upside down where it's warm and put a telephone book on it for a few hours

Both options work. I've done both on various sets I've had over the past decade or more of using the liners in our vehicles

I hear you, either of the choices are good, just comes down to personal preferences I guess. Hard to go wrong either way.

My point is if yours are 1 1/2" off , and they are all made in the same mould , wouldn't all 2012/2013 mats be off the same ?
