Hopefully you can get lucky like my wife and I did with our photographer and find one that is not only a great photographer but decent on price. We went the best that we could afford of the professional photographers in the area.

She had only been doing weddings for a couple years so her price wasn't nearly as expensive as some of the others. Her shots where amazing though. She was very creative in some of the vantage points she came up with and worked her tail off the entire day of the wedding and during the rehearsal the day before. She also included a 90 minute session in the mountains 30 minutes from town for our announcement pictures for booking her a year in advance.

Our bill was $750 and that included all pictures being delivered to us on a disk, about 1/3 of them she had already edited. We also got the first $50 off any prints ordered through her and any prints ordered through her where edited, and a proof sent to us for approval before printing.

My sister in law used her for their wedding a year later and the price had gone up to $1250. My sister in law's husband's brother and his wife to be are also using the same photographer this summer for their wedding. She now has a drone that she is starting to use and I am wanting to see some of the shots she comes up with it.

We never talk much about off camera flash outside of speed lights.

Joey L. gives some recommendations of different portable flash units at four different price points. You should check out his work too. Extremely talented. He's got a series of photographs called "Holy Men" that's one of my favorites.

Yeah. I hear you! But if you ever needed to rent, there you go! Several different choices in a no BS format.

It's the best explanation of masks I've seen. I thought it was great. Glad you found it useful!

I learned a lot, quickly. Sometimes I really prefer a quick gist of something than grueling details. All I'd need is the cheapest set up anyway ha

For now, a couple manual flashed will do . . . I'm looking at picking up a third smaller one with TTL for travel (just because it's half the size).

EDIT: Nissin i40, FWIW. Seems like a good, compact travel flash for hand held street portraits.

That's how I am. Cut out the excess bs and give me the facts. Don't put me to sleep explaining how this and that works. Tell me what it can do, is it easy to make it do that, and how much is it going to cost me.

Not sure I agree. But I do understand. What I got from the video was the incremental difference a couple of grand makes. I do want to know what if he'd used the Elinchrome light modifiers with the Einstein-or if you can.

    Lots...see build
I've discovered that making the profile corrections to the original photos going into panoramas also seems to make much better end results. Don't know why I didn't do that before... :notsure:

Not sure I'd agree with that one either. I know where you're coming from though. I bet it's possible to use it with the Einstein you would just have to modify the mount to work with PCB's mounting system which looks kinda flimsy for that big a modifier. I haven't seen or touched an Einstein to be sure though. I'll have to look at a friend of mine's sometime and see the mount first hand.

I know some of the older Broncolor stuff can be acquired cheaper than what was shown in the video. I've seen quite a few that are using the Profoto B1 sets and they are really impressing me. I think they would have been a good deal less if they didn't have TTL built in to them though. With them now able to do HSS with the firmware upgrade they are impressing me even more. Yeah they are expensive but for the cost of 4 speedlights like I have they can do everything a top tier speedlight can with a lot more power. At first I thought Profoto was just another high priced lighting company but with the B1 set they have really stepped up their game. Color me impressed and after a FF body I might consider one if I start doing a lot more studio type stuff. I saw a video on Adorama TV showing it and how the digital power setting is a lot better with control than the analog type dials also.
