To do what? Swap axels? Why? Just regear and lock at the same time.

 

Because a locker alone is over $1000 plus the compressor.

 

Save your money bud. Buy once cry once.

Think of it this way.....his elocker is alread not enough for him right? Won't you out grow it just as fast? Or will it fail first? Then you have to buy that $1000 locker after you already bought a whole new axle and gone through the annoyance of swapping it and selling your factory one.

 

I thought the only reason he is getting a new axle is because he is going to 35's? Im not going above 285's, I commute in my truck to much to put that much money into an ARB. In reality I probably won't swap axles, just something to think about.

 

If you never plan to regear, and buying the e-locker axle is cheaper than buying an ARB locker/compressor then I think it's worth it.

Otherwise re-gearing and locking you're current axle should be cheaper than buying his e-locker axle and then regearing later.

Honestly unless you're going over 37's I don't see the point in getting rid of the stock Toyota axle. Unless you plan to turn it into a crawler only.

 

I commute to school so until Im done with school I need my truck to commute in but also be a trail rig. Once im out of school then Ill get a new tacoma and go all out, but until then I don't want to put much more money into the truck for off road use if im just going to eat it up with highway miles.. If that makes sense.

 

Makes total sense. I wouldn't either. Thats why i'm not doing a full 3" lift until after i finish school

 

Yes really. All Toyotas come with the same harnesses for the top of the line model. Like my base 4 banger I can add intermittent wipers and cruise by adding the stalks and plugging them in

She's a gem but the previous owner did nothing and i mean NOTHING but dealer service. It was fucking trashed when i got it and i've put a lot of effort into it. :|

It sat alot....so much so that there was animal shit (looked like raccoon or cat) in the engine compartment.

yes they do... mine was used as a rental then registered commercial... bought in september of 2013 with 55k on an 06... If I remember correctly, the commercial dude only drove it like 1,500 miles a year. The carfax is somewhere

 

I did a carfax too but the previous owner had some dent or paint fixed and must've done it out of pocket because it didn't show on the carfax as having any incidents. The reason i know work was done, is because there was over spray on the roof and on the cap tha i had to try to buff out.

Thanks! And yea I don't know why it was listed as a rental unless a Toyota dealer had it as a rent-a-car but it's a 5 speed never really seen any rentals in a stick shift. Must have been out of pocket! I paid for my roof and tailgate out of pocket My truck came with a carfax since I bought it at a dealership.
