Could these 32" fit on a leveled truck?

The tire I want is a 255/75R17, that much I know. Probably Coopers S/T Maxx.

Would I be able to fit these on a truck that has been leveled in the front with +1.5"?

I'm perfectly okay with throwing my mudflaps in the trash and trimming a bit of plastic, but I definitely do not want to get into CMC territory.

I ran 275/70r/17's on my stock '12 Sport with no lift and no spacers on the wheels. They would rub only off road all crossed up. Should work with that tire no problem.

 

Cooper's specs show the ST Maxx smaller than other 255/75/17 tires. That should decrease the chance of rubbing.

 

You mean 255/75/17's differ in size depending on brand/model???

How can you tell?

 

My Cooper ST Max in 255/80/17 are only 32". You should have no problems.

But it also looks like you're running with 885's, so you have at least another inch over what I'm looking for.

Right but the 255/75's will be an inch shorter. You'll have no problems with that size at 1.5". Don't run wheel spacers

Yes. This is copied from Cooper. It show the tire at 31.77". Most other tires that size are > 32".

I have 265/75/16 which are 31.7 in diameter. Mounted on 16x8.5 wheels.
On stock suspension, they did not rub at the shop (mudflaps removed), but then when you would be turning and hit any bump, like turning into a driveway it would rub (and of course offroad, they rubbed). I installed 5100s at 1.75 and all rubbing went away even when turning offroad. So you should be fine(but the mudflaps will probably have to go), but the wheels you have will make an impact, it isn't just suspension.

 

Interesting to note when I was looking up tire diameter

255/75R17
Duratrac is 32"
S/T Maxx is 31.7"

265/75/16
Duratrac is 31.7"
S/T Maxx is 32.1"

So sometimes a manufacturer makes a size "Big" and sometimes they make a certain size "small"

 

Lift on these trucks don't affect tire fitment... Unless you never turn or hit bumps on the road. Zero inches of lift is the same as 3" since the suspension still has the exact cycling geometry.

 

They will fit, might have to remove mud flaps.

 

All the wheels I've been looking at are 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing. No offset. I assume that's what I want.

Thanks. Your 4.5" backspacing is on the right track. Just be careful with your wheel selection. Lots of Tacoma's have issues with the caliper rubbing the wheel. So try to find something you have seen fit on Tacoma World. Or just get them at a local shop where you can easily check and return them if they rub. You don't want wheel spacers.

Glad I could help out, I am just looking out for a fellow member/American. There are a lot of idiots on this forum giving out bad/misleading information. I only share what I know is fact from my own personal knowledge.

IF you go to discountire.com and enter your vehicle info..it will pull up all the wheels that will fit your truck/year. They don't have a giant selection, but they are guaranteed to fit. I have Level 8 and a lot of Taco owners run them down there..they make a great wheel that fits the Tacoma. Otherwise search the tire/wheel thread for wheels that have been mounted with no issues.

 

I really like those polished Level 8 Trackers, but looks like they only come in 18". The chrome ATX AX186's are also high on my list, but they're just so gdamn expensive....

Anyways, when I get closer to buying the wheels/tires I'll probably make a new thread to confirm everything is good.

Since you guys gave me the go-ahead for the tire size I went an ordered my suspension - OME 883's and Nitros. Should give me the 1.5".
