When I bought my truck, I wasn't looking for a TRD. I just wanted a 4x4, 4WD, Four door, auto. A TRD Sport is what they had. I liked the looks of the truck, other than those bedside decals... Oh, and the dealer badge. I got rid if that today too.

I didn't get a good before shot of the decals, but we all know what they look like:

Dealer badge. The problem, for me, with this particular badge,,is that it doesn't LOOK like one. It just looks like you put the word "Prestige" on your vehicle for some reason:

I used a heat gun and then pealed the decals off:

Next, some bug and tar remover and a microfiber cloth to clean off the residue. It actually came off much easier than I thought it would. I did wash the area first to avoid scratching the paint while scrubbing.

Looks good, now lose those badges. BTW I'm digging the signage in your shop/garage.

Looks nice and clean... MGM is a nice color ;)

A true turn of events here... I clicked the thread (didn't notice your name). As I'm looking at the progress pics, I'm thinking to myself "that looks like that dude's garage in NJ".

I see your license plate state in the pic... then I look up and see it's you. :D

I still envy your garage decor :)

Hey, thanks. I got a little carried away with the signage. I was out of wall space until I bought a new toolbox and got rid of some pegboards. Now, the search is back on.

I removed decals once (ok it was a long time ago - the early '90s Toyota trucks had big swoosh stripes on them) with a teakettle of hot boiling water. They peeled right off. I would be a little nervous with a heat gun but glad it worked!

I took it really easy. The job probably would've been even easier if I pushed it a little more with the heat.

Yes, a simple hair dryer works fine, heat, then slip a piece of thin fishing line behind the badge and use a "sawing" motion, then clean up the bit of gunk left behind. IMO, it makes your truck just so much cleaner looking. Keep us posted if you decide to go that way.

Actually, I'm not into fancy wheels at all. Even when I would build Hot Rods, I would run steelies most if the time.

I have my stock Sport wheels with Goodyear Authorities for sale right now. If they sell, I'm going to buy 16" Duratracs and put them on Off Road Alloys or another set of steelies. Which ever I can find a deal on. I paid $100 for the ones I'm running now.

I got the center caps with the steel wheels, but not the correct lug nuts to hold them on. I do like the looks with them off though.

Much better IMHO! I did the same with my 14 Pyrite Mica AC. For some reason they used black ones on those models, which is kinda dumb on a truck as dark as the Pyrite Mica. I probably wouldn't have left the white ones either because I like the cleaner look, but I think they would have looked better. I went the same route. It was already a warm day and I used a heat gun but kept my hand near where I was aiming it so I could tell if it got too hot. I just got a corner to lift some and just used my nails and pulled it off bit by bit. I think I used Gunk brand adhesive remover and then gave it a coat of wax after.

When I bought my truck, it was being brought in from another dealership so I asked the dealership to leave the dealer sticker off of it & they had no problem with that.

Now I just need to get one of those red TRD metal badges to add to the tailgate.

    What happened to the wheels?
The trd comes with alloy wheels, did you remove those?

I for one like the TRD decal, I just don't understand why someone would want to remove it.
Hey, it's your truck, hope your happy and enjoy.
I also had the dealer sticker removed at the dealer, would not sign the papers till they removed it.
