So far so good. I don't have any complaints. They are working well and I love the storage. I like them much better than what I had before.

Yeah I've been really impressed with it. It got filled with snow this week. No problem at all.

Never had a winch on the Tacoma. It's ready for one but I just haven't had the funds for the one I want. I'm rarely by myself on the trail and someone else in the group usually has one so I haven't been motivated to add one. But I'll be doing more trips with just our cruiser and my boys driving the Tacoma as the second vehicle, so I'll be getting a winch before too long but it will probably go on the cruiser.

well the HID's made their way onto the new Cruiser so my old Hellas are on the Taco for now while I shop for a lightbar to go on the Tacoma.

Cruiser got a new rear bumper and some 35" MTR's though. :)

I happen to know of a awesome light bar manufacturer not too far down the road from you. You should stop in and have them show you some of the new stuff they are working on.

There's a build thread, not that you've missed much. This one isn't going to take much more. Just need to get the suspension from my '93 swapped over to it and then a couple other small details and it's ready to rock. These are my favorite Toyotas. Roomy, comfy, super capable (solid axles and factory f/r lockers) and reliable. Only downside really is they are slow, but that's why their called "Land Cruisers" not "Land Speeders". :)

My '93 has 330k on it. This "new" '95 has 188k.

Here's a random question for you. How well do you think rear facing car seats fit in the double cab 1st gen? I'm contemplating getting something with 4 doors to better accommodate my daughter. We've got a 5th gen T4R for most of our child/dog transport needs, but I would like something a little bigger that we could also use and fit my wife, baby, and possibly dog in the cab(or bed). Would be nice to keep the miles off the t4r for just normal errands and save it for longer trips.

My kids were all out of rear facing seats when I got my Tacoma so I can't answer that for certain. But I'm sure it will work just fine. If you only need the one car seat it could definitely fit well in the middle of the rear seat.

Would you say that getting the KM2s siped make them comparable to an A/T on the street in the snow? Or are they still at a disadvantage?

    Thanks!

I don't think they are quite comparable to an AT type tire. AT type tires and their handling characteristics has a lot to do with overall tread design as well as the amount of siping. MT type tires have a different purpose in mind so the overall tread design isn't one that is optimized for pavement/snow performance. Siping just helps make them a bit more acceptable.
