    Happy New Year, faces!
I celebrated the New Year with a new truck gun.
'94 Winchester in 30-30 (post 64, judging by the stamped parts and the serial #). Local gun shop had it listed on their website, and I've wanted a knockaround lever gun for a while. The blueing on the barrel and magazine tube are in good shape, but as is typical for 94's it's kind of thin on the receiver. No biggie, though, since it's just going to ride around in my truck anyway. I figure I'll keep it oiled, and if it starts developing rust I'll just strip it down and Cerakote/Duracoat it.
First I've got to take it out and test fire it, obviously, but I stripped it down to a pile of parts, cleaned & oiled it and put it back together this evening. Everything looks to be in good functional condition, and the clean & lube smoothed out the action a lot.

Looks good Noel, I've wanted a lever gun for a while also.

    Thanks!
This is actually lever gun #3.... :anonymous:

I already had a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem w/a Tasco 4x on see-thru mounts that I use during deer season for pushing thick cover.
I also already had a Winchester '94 takedown in .32spl that I shot my first deer with. About 10 years ago I sent a the serial # to Winchester and found out that it was made in 1902, so I had it appraised and immediately turned it into a safe queen when they told me it was worth upwards of $5k.

But this is one that I can carry around in the truck and not care when it gets dinged and scratched.

Looks killer..I've always wanted one after seeing Terminator 2. Can you flip it in your hand like Arnold did?

Sadly no. You need the large loop lever for that. Or very tiny hands...

I thought you did have miniature hands? Aren't you legally a midget in 35 states?

Yeah, but I've got big hands for a midget.
