    off for good reason...they do function but not as great as we hoped they would...

    another thing I have scene a few other members that had the bug deflector on their XRs and 4x4s from the factory...after removing the deflector they saw that the deflector would move so much from the turbulence when driving at higher rates of speed that it damaged the hood by chipping paint...luckily when they took it to toyota, toyota was able to look it up and make sure the deflector was installed by them or the factory...if so they paid to fix the chipped paint...

    I'm thinking bug deflectors stopped working well in the 80s when they went from a flat slab to aerodynamic.

    Yea, I had one on for a month or two when I first got it, got a couple of chips and it didn't seem to deflect bugs worth a damn. Took it off, now I have a lot less bugs and no new chips.

    Usually I'm a big on promoting making your truck your own and doing whatever looks good to you...but one exception is bug deflectors. I think your truck looks way better without it!

    I don't mind the deflectors (I have one) if they fit well and are contoured to the hood. Yours sits too high.
