It sounds like they're pushing hard for Quinn, it would suck to lose our D Coord but he's not what makes our D great. He inherited an amazing unit that Carroll/Schneider built and Bradley coached up. If they decide to pull the trigger on Quinn that would shock me... why not just go with Fangio unless they think Quinn is WAY better?

I would be happy and sad as a Hawk. Sad to see Quinn go, happy the 49ers got him because I don't think he's a great HC candidate. Pete Caroll and John Schneider make this team.. the assistants are almost replaceable. Lose Bradley to Jacksonville go grab Quinn from Florida etc.

Fangio has done a hell of a job with the Niners, I know Quinn has been mentioned on a few reports, which wouldn't be bad, but I still think the major help has been needed to shift to more potent offense. It wouldn't hurt to have the same name as the Head Coach if Quinn goes to the niners, but I don't think it would happen.

Shanahan and Holmgren are my top 2. Gruden would be #1, but we know his position is set with ESPN.

Kaep needs someone who can speak to him. Both the two I named could do it. I don't think they'll drop him until we draft someone in the top 15 in a few years.

Baalke needs to go. I can't believe some of my friends are defending the guy. He's cancer. He's got Yorks ear. I think both of them are gone before the next coach is.

Holmgren is an outside shot, I thought he was maybe the guy earlier in the year. (For either SF or Oak) He lives in Seattle and is on the local sports radio show every day M-F. He's hinted throughout the year that the front office in SF is a mess. I don't get the feeling he's willing to step into a position where a 34 year old is his boss. He also said that DeBartolo is not calling the shots behind the scene like a lot of people think. It's truly York, and his mom/dad. Holmgren hinted if Eddie was calling the shots Harbaugh would still be the coach and Baalke would be gone. The way he said it made it sound like it came from Eddie. They have a good relationship.

Also, For Holmgren to go to SF Baalke would have to go.

I would rather see Bevell go. You notice you don't hear his name come up as a choice for a HC position. I am not a big fan of his play calling.

I can't stand Gruden as a color commentator so I can only dream he takes one of the vacancies.

Like any O coordinator Bevell takes heat but I think he's done an amazing job. Figuring out an offense with Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson and no #1 receivers isn't easy. Not to mention all of the injuries on the O-line. I would hate to lose Bevell.

As for Gruden, he just signed a massive extension with ESPN a couple of weeks ago, he won't be going anywhere.

I can't agree with that because the game plan has always been use the run to set up the run. Although Lynch has had a very good season it is more due to his ability to extend plays.

Seattle does not have top tier receivers. This is not anything new. But they will tell you they are getting open and Bevell does not disagree with this. So is the problem play calling or Russell's unwillingness to let it go?

It's two things. Bevell protecting the receivers who don't get separation and Wilson protecting the ball.

Bevell is not going to contradict the WR's saying they are open in the media, no chance. Russell could let it go a bit more but why? He is one of the best QB's in the league at protecting the ball and that's how the Seahawks win football games. Protect the ball, control the clock and play great defense.

Russell is only a 3rd year QB, a time will come when we need him to air it out more... not today.

Separation in the NFL is almost non existent these days. QBs have to be accurate. I don't think here necessarily needs to throw more but with the condition of the offensive line a true West Coast offensive game plan would be better. Quick and short slants with more two back sets. Lynch flanked out more on screens would be nice as well.

Read the comments on any article that has been written recently about his contract extension with ESPN.

My favorite is, "oh great, seven more years of liking every player in the league."

    I disagree completely.

Last year the Seahawks won the Super Bowl with 18th ranked offense in the league. (YPG) This year they are 9th in yards and 8th in points. That's improvement. Substantial improvement.

Zach Miller has been out all year, a big red zone threat and Sydney rice is gone. They're only true possession receiver. There have been some struggles in the red zone but that obviously doesn't have anything to do with airing it out or opening it up. Also, as you pointed out the O-line has been in shambles all year with two All-Pro/Pro Bowl players missing a ton of time.

As for no WR's getting separation, that's cliche. The Seahawks don't have a #1 WR. They have a 2,3 and a 4/5 playing 1,2 and 3. With Kearse out, they have no deep threat. Richardson isn't beating people off the line yet .. he will, but not yet.

I'm a firm believer in not fucking with what isn't broken.

Rice was out almost all of last year. Miller's best attribute is his blocking and the yards is due to Wilson running for big gains because he has to. The yards aren't from the passing game.

I'll be honest with you...while I detest and loathe the Cowboys more than any other franchise...

This is the best they've been since Aikman, Irvin, and Smith.

The line is the key. Even Rex fooking Ryan made it to the AFCC a couple years in a row with a shit QB and not much offensive firepower. If you can win the fight at the line (both ways) every other part of your team looks better and you win more.

They have a shot at it this year. Green Bay and Seattle are the other two to really worry about.
