Street Worthy

I have a 2005 TRD access cab 2wd that I primarily use as a commuter. I don't do any offroading with it presently and I plan to keep it rubber side down. Right now I'm enjoying 19mpg and have 55K on the odometer. I think its time to get my first set of new tires lol. I can't figure out how the BFGs lasted so long.

Anyways, I wanted to make my truck more street friendly. What can I do to the truck to make it handle better on the road? What is the best bang for buck? The only thing that comes to mind is swapping the 16s for some 18s and running sport tires, and maybe swapping to some different struts/shocks.

Another idea I've been tossing around is going to an x-runner...I'm wondering the long run if it will just be cheaper and easier? Only problem is they don't make 'em in indigo ink

 

maybe go with the "Viet" look?

 

i would think that going up in rim size would make it less of a "street friendly ride" and welcome to tw

 

Thanks. I think I'm going to have to stick to a size 17-18 rim as tires get rather pricey up in those high 20 altitudes.
