Could be a number of things then. Get rid of the flinch first and see if things center up.

My Airweight makes me jumpy, I have to do ball and dummy every time I go to the range with it.

Was a good reminder to pay attention. Could have blown my SBR apart and those aren't easy to replace. Guess I missed the powder drop on one of my reloads. The sound was unmistakable, and the primer didn't cycle the action, so no harm done.

Also a good reminder to have tools in the truck. I used a combination of some steel action screws, a brass punch and a Gerber multi-tool to remedy the situation.

Can someone point me to a website/information regarding rifles? Just throwing the idea around even though ill probably still get a pistol first. Was glancing at AR 15 builds (something for hunting and still fun to shoot, .308?) but i really dont know whats available or if theres a better rifle option out there.

    Thanks in advance

There are about 10 million websites out there. You need to be much more specific.

Ha im aware. Ive shot an ar 15 (unsure caliber) and ive shot a FN fal in .308. Just thinking something that would be good for deer, most likely in an ar15 build. Complete kit or put one together. Whats recommended caliber for deer? I saw palmetto has build kits for 650ish in 5.56 (is that enough)?

Guess im just looking for a step to start reading.

Of the two calibers you've listed...You can use .223 but you'd be better off with 308.

    I use a .270 on deer. Started with a .243

Are you dead set on wanting an AR platform or would you be fine with a bolt action?

Id prefer to stay semi-auto. But not set an ar platform i just know its very common to build/access parts

Depending on brand and parts the cost could go either way....depends on whether you want to build one or if you just want it ready to go out the door.

You also have to decide gas or piston.

Sorry not really ideas. I was gonna say get a left handed thumb hole stock for a 10/22 or maybe a pump action but you want a bolt :notsure:

I've got time to figure it out. Working on other projects, just trying to think ahead to the next build lol. Thanks though :)

Dont confuse him... no need to get into this for a first time/deer rifle.

Get the .308 ar-10 kit from PSA and you should be good to go. They have a kit right now for around 650 then add a lower for around 100, then whatever optic you want

Wasn't trying to, its just a controversial decision that greatly effects cost...

I agree that would probably do him just fine depends on his preferences an budget...

Haha, thanks for helping the noob. That would be right around my price range for my first rifle. I know psa makes good stuff. Isnt piston typically the easier gun to clean/maintain?
    :O
