Has anyone towed at or above the 3500lb tow capacity for the 2WD 4Cyl Prerunner? If so, what did you tow and how did it go?

I may try to use my 4Cyl to tow my boat (roughly 3500lbs). Concenred about getting it up the boat ramp.

I have an old 2001 Tundra TRD as my primary fishing/hunting truck, but wondering how my Taco would do....

    Thanks,
    ENC

    Thanks, Kyle.

Like I mentioned, I have a 2001 Tundra TRD as my primary hunting and fishing truck so I didn't need to purchase the V6. I'm just courious how my little Taco would do.

    To my knowledge, yes.

I did add a class III hitch and 5 pin connector to my Taco. I'm not big on towing using the bumper.

I towed 3500lbs + quite often with my old 2005 5 lug 5-speed. Sometimes it was a little difficult to get going when starting up on the hills so towing a boat up a ramp could possibly get interesting. If you're an auto then it should be fine. If you're 5-speed, hook up your boat and seek out some hills and stop and try it out and see how the truck behaves.
