Trail Kings FTMFW!!! Love mine and have been through two. I've only used for fronts.
Just mounted up some Schwalbes to try and impressed so far. Hans Dampf front and Racing Ralph rear.

Anyone who's gone 1x10 had issues with rear hubs????
I went 30T up front and added a 42T to my 11-36. Type II X9, new chain and cassette as well.
I've had two different wheelsets and both skip ONLY on the 42 cog. So frustrated:(

bone stock save for the block lift that came on it with the open country m/t.
been 1x10 for a while without any issues. I finally found a 96 bcd n/w chainring out of the uk. Check out works components. Well worth the money, IMO. :)

What do you mean by skip? Is it not engaging completely on the sprocket?

Did you adjust the rear derailleur after you added the new 42?

Yes on all the above questions. The funny thing is when I added the new wheelset the problem did diminish slightly. With the Infernos it only took 1/3 power to make it skip, with the Syncros I can mash quite a bit harder in a steep climb before it skips. This is why I think it has to be a pawl engagement issue. Scouring mtbr forum however and I can't find any others with this problem

It shifts fine and runs fine on the eThirteen 42 while in the work stand.

+2. I am not familiar with SRAMs rear detailleur adjustments but I would assume it would be the same as Shimano as far as setting your limits. YouTube is your friend.

Ah ah. It sounds like a chain length issue if you are running a FS.

possibly derailleur length too? but I'm guessing you have a long cage already

    FS?
    ...and yes long cage

I think I do have enough length to remove a link. I wanted to leave it a lil long to have the option of switching to a 32 up front. I would think chain length would be more of an issue on the smaller cogs however:/

guessing he meant full suspension. going through your travel itll take up slack. if you didn't get a longer chain with the new cog its probably binding up your derailleur

It's a new chain cut to length for this setup. The problem occurs only on the 42 when climbing and susp movement is minimal.
I need to try 1. Adjust B tension and snugging upper jockey closer to cassette
and 2. Taking a link outta chain
