Hey everyone, new to TW! I just got a 2012 tacoma trd off road. Everything is factory except it has little toyotec spacers 2" i think to level the front up. Iv been looking though post about tires/lifts ect. Im wanting to pull the trigger on some wheels and tires but i dont want it too look goofy. Iv been looking online at some fuel hostages and I really like the look of them. The website I was looking at, it pulls up a 17/9 +1 offset with a 265/65/17, with a guaranteed fit. seems like a odd tire size to me, should i just lift the truck first before tires and wheels? Im looking at either a toyotec 3" or the OME kit.

to highjack my question, Im leaning toward this lift http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Toytec-Ultimate-Lift-Kit-05-Tacoma_p_1062.html

should i go ahead and pull the trigger on the uca's with the lift? and for the members who know more than I do about lifts does this look like it comes with everything for a install? and any ideas on what size tires i should be able to clear? anyone running this lift and wish they went another way? any feedback would be great! thanks in advance.

Your truck looks good the way it sits. I would lift it first then do the wheels. The kit your looking at is a good kit from what I have read on here. If your wanting to go 3in lift you will need UCA. What do you have in the rear now?

I'm not sure what a off-road comes standard with, it has 4 leafes, no block or anything I assumed it was factory

I be leave that the 2012 TRD Off road comes with the 2+1 leaves . You might have an AAL. Any one that knows chime in . I would just ditch the front spacers and get some 5100's WITH OME coils and leave the rear as is . That way you don't need UCA. JUST MY 0.02 cents .

Josh, I have that lift you've linked and love it ( I have a Sport ). Toytec packaged it w/ everything you need. It is a common misconception that you will require uca's though w/ a 3" lift. If you off-road, that may be the case. For my daily driving the oem uca's are fine (also no cmc needed). Runnin' 285's though have required shedding the flaps and minor trimming, though that is quite common and easily done. Hope this helps.

The listed tire size would be stock Tacoma for a 17" wheel. As you plus size wheels the aspect ratio goes down one size to keep the same effective tire height. A 265/65/17 is pretty much equal in dimensions to a 265/70/16. A stock Tacoma will fit a 265/75/16 without any issues so you should be able to fit a 265/70/17 on a stock rig. Most larger sizes will require a lift or clearance mods, or both.

Are you sure truck doesn't have lift installed already? You have quite a big gap from the top of the tires to the wheel well. 2 inch spacers give you more than 2 inches of lift. Truck looks good already. The bigger tires should fit just the way it sits
