What did you guys do when you took off your mudflaps as far as the holes that are still there. Did you just plug them with the pop in tabs or leave them open?

I wouldn't remove the flaps if I were you. Your paint will be chipped and scratched to hell.

My old 2006 did not have flaps and the paint was fucked to say the least

Where you live, you should leave them on. Winter driving on highways is sandblasting to the paint without the flaps. I replaced my stocks with Huskeys when I busted one off on a rock. New ones are a little shorter, look better, and still protect well.

I have seen a lot of mixed reviews regarding the mud flaps. I'm having the same issue. Should i keep them or take them Off. I have a 2Gen Taco and the roads I hit are 90% pavement. What do you guys Recomend?

In New England, winters with sand and salt are rough on the paint if you're not running flaps. Not sure you'd have that problem in TX, but I have driven through Dallas during ice storms so ymmv.

I took my front mudflaps off because they are too long. They don't look rightand rub on speed bumps and when inserts pop out your going down the highway with a twisted flap.
I'd suggest trimming them or removing them. They also have aftermarket ones that look like a good length. You can't off road or snow drive with stocks flaps. I got mad at pop them off. Lol.
