Bought this 2002 on new years day. Nothing in bed.
Would like opinions on if I should put liner, Mat, and or rail covers on it.
This will be my primary work vehicle and will be used to haul things (at my wife's request, lol)

id say if you are going to use the back of the truck alot get a bedliner installed, have it sprayed over the rail.

What will you be doing for your job?

X2, Line-x is all I will recommend, for both durability and cosmetic reasons.

I have a rubber bed mat and bought some plastic textured rail covers and tailgate covers. Works fine for me as I mostly use my bed to hail furniture, or other big items that are strapped down.

I'm going to try one of the bed rugs. I don't haul anything that would need a spray in liner. They are suppose to be decently tough but never used one.

Bed rugs are nice...I have one. But I wouldn't put one in the back of a truck that doesn't have a camper shell or cover on bed. I camp out of my truck a lot and the bed rug is great for car camping. Not so good if you're hauling a bunch of stuff in an open bed.

Most people on this site do not like drop-in liners, but I like mine and prefer it to a spray in liner. Spray in liners, in my opinion, protect against scratches and rust, but not against dents. I am more concerned about dents, since scratches can be repainted, but dents are more difficult to deal with. The drop-in liner has strong re-inforcing "ribs" on the bottom to prevent heavy items dropped in the bed from denting it. I also don't live in a rust prone area, so getting moisture under the liner is not much of a concern for me.
That being said, I am sure most people here will recommend a spray in liner like line-ex.

I have a toneau cover, so the frame helps to protect my rails. Otherwise I would agree that it is good to have the line-ex sprayed on the rails also.

My truck has both a spray-in liner and a bedrug. The Line-X was done before I purchased the truck and I agree with the other comments if you are hauling a lot of stuff and want the highest durability, have the bed Line-X'd and spray it over the rails.

I like the bedrug and it can be used without a camper shell. I have it in my open truck bed and it's been left outside and snowed on etc. There is no actual fabric in the construction so it won't rot or deteriorate. The backing is closed cell foam so it won't absorb water and the "carpet" is all plastic so it is weather proof as well.
