    What?

Your radiator does not have to come out but it would be easier if you did pull it.

And you need to drain all the coolant anyways if you do, So might as well replace with official Toyota red coolant

um, I will admit the RPMs were a bit up there at the time...

Really don't know what happened. Don't see any scraping or gouges in the shroud. Just heard a bang then the truck was shaking at idle. Got home, popped the hood and took a bit to realize that a whole fan blade was missing.

its old plastic, it stressed out and broke.

Not a big deal to replace but for the sake of not doing things more than you need to... stay OEM

Fan clutch is fine and does not need to be removed, just remove the 4 screws holding the fan on and swap it.

yeah, it uses centrifugal force and fluid to activate the clutch. The FSM refers to it as a fluid unit.

Just wondering if, with 135k miles on it, I should just replace it while in there.

Blew my fan completely apart during a water crossing. You don't need to replace the clutch, from what I read at least. I didn't drain any fluid doing mine, made it more of a bitch though, but I was in an auto store parking lot. At home I would just drain all the fluid if it hasn't been done recently, otherwise just drain enough to get the upper hose off.
