EDIT: realize this is in the wrong section. How to move post? Delete post? Sorry!

    Hey y'all,

Apologies if this is the wrong spot for this, haven't posted anything on here yet. This morning it was around 0' F and I had a difficult time starting my truck. I put the key in the ignition and when it was in the on position all the dashboard lights, radio, DRL, fans, wipers came on, but when I tried to crank the engine there was just no response. No sputtering, lights didn't dim, nothing. Tried a few times, still nothing. Went inside for a couple minutes, came back out and held ignition for a good 10-15 seconds and finally the engine slowly started to turn over and then started. I am relatively new to cold weather but I know that batteries can have a tough time in cold weather and oil gets thicker. Wondering:
    1) What was the issue?
    2) What can I do to ensure that this does not happen anymore and that I have reliable startups?

    Other info:
    - 2014 2.7L 4x4 automatic with 10.5k miles. Only real mod is a pair of hella 500s
    - Oil was changed at 10k miles at a dealership in NC so maybe the oil they put in wasn't meant for cold OH weather?
    - Went off roading this past weekend and got into some pretty deep mud/water that definitely went high enough to cover the engine compartment at some points (little 4 banger handled it like a champ). Pressure washed entire vehicle including engine compartment when I was done. Might this have something to do with it? Have started vehicle 2 consecutive mornings since this incident with no trouble until now.

Let me know if any more info is needed and I will provide!

    Thanks for y'alls help!

What is the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) on your battery?

I honestly wouldn't worry too much; it's probably just from everything being so darn cold.

It was -9 here in Milwaukee this AM and my 2002 4runner started, but took more cranks and you could feel it struggling against the thick oil. Scared me for a split second that it wouldn't start, but then it did.

Pretty good bag of variables you add into the mix with this statement... best wishes

Since you know you posted this in the wrong section why did you post it here?

Jim: Didn't know until after I posted. Hence the 'EDIT' line ;)

Jon: Haha, yah fingers crossed for nothing too serious. I did lose my front license plate going through one mud pit but that's not too hard of a fix.

Rocky: I'll check on CCA. 12' F this am and started without a hiccup.
