Yeah, been a tad lazy on the TW topic. Oops.

I quit the Trans shop back around mid November. The story is that an Acura MDX came in for a rebuild....I pulled the trans out, it got rebuilt, reinstalled and was sent on it's merry little way on a Friday afternoon. The following Monday, the MDX is back in the shop for a leak from the bell housing. Has to be taken back out, so I take it back out.

We replace a seal behind the torque converter and we're standing around talking about it/looking at it and I notice that the converter has some nicks/scratches on the surface of where it rides close to the seal. I told my boss that I'd prefer to wait and get a new converter since this one was technically bad and I didn't want to do the job a 3rd time.

Boss said fuck it, put it back together with the shitty converter.

    So I did.

And it still leaked. From the same goddamn place. I quit before I had to do it for a 3rd time after bitching about wanting to replace a part so I wouldn't have to do it a 3rd time.

I spent the next 2-3 weeks looking for a jobbie. I was not working when thanksgiving rolled around. I tried like hell to find something away from auto repair but it didn't go so well. I had some good leads on a few Service Advisor positions but nothing panned out.

Found a job working at one of the Chevy dealers around town. I've been there around a month now. For not wanting to work on cars anymore, this is about the best gig I could get. What I'm doing is simply taking the cars that get traded in, we drive them around, inspect them and write a repair ticket. Service Managers decide if it's worth fixing the car to put back on their used car lot or if it's a giant piece of shit and gets sent off to the auto auction.

No customer driven repairs. No one up my ass to get this thing or that thing done. I pretty much get to manage my own time as long as I'm working. I could kill an entire day test driving/inspecting cars and not lift a single tool if I wanted to. The other 2 techs there seem alright and have been helpful.

The drive is a lot better to. I'm travelling about 30 minutes to/from, so an hour a day travel time as compared to the 2+ hours a day that I was driving to/from the trans shop.

Some fucked up shit is going on with my back at the moment. Earlier this week I develop this sore type of pain in my lower left back, around the lower rib cage area. Dull, annoying pain all week. Today, I sneezed early in the morning and triggered something cause I about went to the floor from the sudden flash of pain in my back. Took 3 aleve which usually kills any pain I have and all it did was take the edge off, still hurt like fuck. Aleve wore off about 8 last night was again about on the floor again from coughing after takin a toke. I have never experience pain like this before.

Could also be a bruised/broke rib, if you think that's possible. I was in a car wreck years ago and either bruised or broke my ribs and I it took the breath out of me if I sneezed or turned my body somewhat quickly.

I think this is most likely the case somehow. Lower rib cage in the back is ungodly sore and tender. Puts a damper on the whole hippie thing, coughing hurts like a bitch.

Why ya'll break TW Sunday morning?

It's not too bad, I just didn't do the harder trails. Stuck to the main loop, then we went back and dropped off my truck and we hopped into the more equipped 4wds and did the harder trails.

Yeah you can def drive some trails in 2wd. I always do that until I have to use 4wd. But I personally would get bored in a 2wd only truck because of the trails you are limited too. Don't let this stop you from coming though. Not only can/will we make time for you to ride the trails in your truck but we will gladly let you ride in any 4wd vehicle with open seats. We've never just left someone at camp because their truck couldn't take the trails we wanted to ride. Haha def come man
