This is how I disabled the seat belt reminder in my 2014 Tacoma T-Force. It only took about 10 minutes per seat. First, unscrew the 4 bolts that hold the seat down to gain better access to the seat belt receiver. Unscrew the receiver from the side of the seat. Then I removed the plug from the receiver. (See pictures). You can see in the pictures that the white W-shaped tab, when pushed down, turns off the seat belt light, or in other words, it makes the computer think that the seat belt is connected. I taped down this w shaped tab, left it disconnected from the receiver, and tied it under the seat out of the way. The truck seat belt reminder light now doesn't come on at all. However, anytime I would like to reconnect the seat belt light I can do so with little difficulty

Well, obviously, I touched the wrong link. I did this from my phone, and there is limited room. I tried to change it but it won't let me. HOWEVER, the seat belt reminder is rumored to be possible to be disabled by a code of key on, odometer button pushed, etc, on 2011 and earlier, so this tip may be more appropriate for the 3rd generation than the 2nd gen. The point is still there (to help each other), and a search will turn up the same results, so I don't see why this would be a problem...

Because the 3rd gens got a new grill and lights with tacoma pressed into the tailgate and this should work on them also.

The dealership can disable the seatbelt chime thru the OBD port. Just ask them to next time you bring it in for an oil change. They did it for me at no cost while still under warranty.

Instead of taping the white sponsor down you can just take the spring out of the center that holds the white sensor up. But taping works too. Did the same thing on my Tundra. FYI putting the spring back in is not as easy as taking it out.

Getting away with this depends on the state. We have mandatory annual inspections in Texas, and three times in the last 10 years I've had an inspector make sure the seatbelt reminders work. Seriously. With my luck, I'd try it and get failed on the next inspection.

Good to know, tx also. I just wanted the passenger air bag beep to stop, I often have a compressor in the passenger seat and the warning beeping is very annoying. Even when I turn it off.

Dude! Just buckle the seatbelt! I do that to keep if from going off when the dog is in the front seat. She weighs juuuuust enough to set it off.
