Yeah I might boycott until RCOR lowers their prices. My brother and I might head back out to Peter's Mill Run next weekend if you are interested. 1 hour drive from Fairfax but only $5 for a trail pass.

Peter's Mill Run ... run this coming Sunday 1/11. My brother and I are trying to get a group together. Who's interested? We will probably be leaving Fairfax around 9:00am.

Edit: Looks like we are going to push it to the following Saturday 1/24 ... assuming the trail isn't closed yet for winter.

I can't this weekend, but i'd definitely be down sometime this spring. Does it dead end into 675 between Edinburg and Luray? It'd be cool to take that down and then come back up to 66 on Skyline Drive. I haven't done either lol

Sorry should've quoted this in my post - headed to RCOR on 1/24. Dodging knuckleheads on my way to work this morning was plenty enough adventure for today.

i pulled 3 out this morning already. Theres an ethopian lady in the ditch across the street from my house right now in an old camry from the 90's. I pulled up offering to pull her out and was promptly yelled at. Somehow she thought I was going to damage her fading, chipping, paint failure maroon 4 door nastiness. Her personality fit her vehicle. I tried explaining that i was not going to cause anymore damage than she already had with her car resting on its side in the ditch. I just wanted to get her back safely on the road so she could get on with her day and not cause an accident from other people rubbernecking.

more yelling at me like I was the one that wrecked her vehicle. Smiled at her and said, " I believe we are at am impasse. I came here to help, you do not want help. I offered you a service for free that will cost you hundreds when a wrecker finally gets here. Have a wonderful day. I'm going to make some hot chocolate, want one?"

I was yelled at in her native tongue now and I just waved and came back home.

I'm fairly new to all this, but I don't get the sense that it's that specialized a task. I based my choice on price and convenient location (and shopmyway points) - used the Sears garage at Landmark Mall.

Tried to help out a cab w/ a passenger myself earlier on the way to work. Crown Vic on the Nokes blvd bridge over 28. He was just sitting there in the middle of the lane stuck spinning his tires w/ traffic building up behind him. A new mustang tried to go around and suffered the same fate in the even deeper snow.

I cut around all the traffic and offered to tow him up the hill. However when I went to go hook up a tow strap, there was nothing to hook to on the front of the car. Most of it looked like it had rusted away and I didn't want to hook up to his suspension component.

There were so many rear wheel drive luxury and sport cars (cough*bmws*cough) having trouble/stuck. People that own RWD cars need to either invest in snow tires or just stay home.

Or..... Drive carefully and not be idiots. I have had nothing but BMWs up until my Taco. Some have been open diff cars some with LSD and I have always had success. In CT, when I was stationed in KS and Germany and now in VA

It's not the cars it's the drivers in them that think their ABS, DSC, and any other three to four letter acronym is going to keep them safe no matter what

    Sorry /of rant.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. You are right in saying that it's the drivers more than the car. I grew up and learned to drive in a 2002 tacoma prerunner w/ no abs or traction control in MA & NH and went to school in upstate NY; so I so more than know how important being careful and not driving like an idiot is. The bmw 3 series just happens to be the Camry of NoVA (every other person here has one) where it seem very few people know how to drive on even perfect sunny day, nevermind a day like today.
