I'd be calling Toyota like "Um, Yea... Why the fuck is this full sized, matching spare tire yellow?"

Must be nice to have a car you can take in and service. I wouldn't know...... They called and confirmed what I have been saying for a week, "Mr. Bullock, this is Wayne at Gossett Jeep. The tech has decided you have what we are calling total transmission failure. They will remove and tear yours down today and Jeep is sending some engineer down because quite frankly it's a failure we haven't seen before. Hopefully sir you will have a new transmission here and installed by the end of the week."

This is the second time they have sent a guy down from Detroit to look at a problem on my Jeep that they haven't seen before. Why am I so fortunate?

It's the 6speed Mercedes Benz transmission. It's not like the old Grand Cherokee ones. I did my homework before I bought it. I'm shocked

You know Toyota's response before you even ask. That's how they all are now.
I saw a yellow wheel 4runner recently and had wondered what kind of cleaner they had used to ruin the finish. Guess they hadn't done anything to it.

I'm just curious what the point is... Looks like a damn Easter egg...

Anyways, the shit for tires they put on there (Bridgestone deuler h/t) are about donezo at 40k miles... The tire size is 245/60/20. Anyone have any suggestions for a good tire? Looks like I'm gonna be looking at about $800 in rubber...

I'm not buying those bridgestones again. 40k out of a tire is kind of weak in my book... It's not like I have a damn z rated tire...

I'm done with Bridgestone for good too. 3 dif sets over the years were ok but not justified in their price.

    Been happy with Nitto.

Nitto NT850+ are nice high performance all season SUV tire. Thought they had bad wear but turns out was my own fault. 31k without rotating. My bad. So, actually they've been great aside from excess edge wear I caused. I never hydroplaned on them but wife did once only recently. They were on the Highlander when we got it used so don't know true mileage. I've put on over 38k miles and they still handle well even with my aggressive cornering. Rated as a 50k mile tire. Size 245/55-19.

Have a set of Nitto NT421Q in garage to be mounted when I get time. Also a high performance all season with higher mileage rating.

    Discount Tire Direct.
Local shop charges 15-20 $ per tire for mount and balance.
Came out saving over $150 per set this way vs just buying at the shop.
No sales tax using DTD. That saves $70 right there on a set.

Good input... I'll look into those. Thank you! Keep the suggestions coming gents. Tire shop just called and said i ran over a razor or something. Said the tear is to big to be patched... I'm gonna have someone else look at it though.

But if that tire is done, is it bad that I refuse to buy 1 tire and put it on there and look all ghetto like? I'd buy a brand new set before I have 1 new tire...

You’re in Memfrica so of coarse it dose.

I see a lot of 2wd trucks/suvs with 2 different tires. Like mud or A/T’s on the back and street tires on the front.

So apparently this weird ass tire size is hard to find. What a pain in my ass... They keep talking about these Bridgestone and how they're "high performance tires"... Why do I need that on my grocery getter 4Runner??

They recommended a cooper srx, $860 mounted and balanced. Guess I'm gonna look into those...

245/60-20 is odd size. 31.6 inch diameter.
255/55-20 has more options. 31.04 inch diameter but wider by about 3/8. Should not notice any difference driving I'd assume. Maybe the 1/4 inch shorter sidewall is stiffer but maybe not.

In 20s, I bet high performance will be most common.
I've known 3 people that ran Cooper street tires and all said they sucked all around.

Tirebuyer.com, NT850 Plus, 255/55-20. $691.95 after tax and then add another $100 for mount & balance. Oh, code 25for2015 drops it to $664.63. So under 800 in the end is possible.

Do you think 265/50-20 would be ok?
Thats 31.4 diameter and 3/4 inch wider.
More options that size too. A lot more options and cheaper.
