    Commissioner Hosting Meeting on BLM Plan on Dec. 22
    Commissioner Tom Collins is hosting a town hall meeting to solicit input on the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Southern Nevada District from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in Commission Chambers at the County Government Building at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway in downtown Las Vegas.

    The RMP identifies land uses for specific areas within Clark and Nye counties that are under the jurisdiction of the BLM. Traditionally, the plan has designated land for recreational uses where people can drive off-road vehicles, zones for solar and other energy production, and areas that may be sold in the near future.

    “This meeting will give residents a chance to share their opinions on the future uses of the vast open spaces that surround us,” Commissioner Collins said.

    The Monday meeting will focus strictly on the land-use issues addressed by the RMP and participants will be asked to keep their comments focused on that singular topic. The BLM is expected to adopt amendments to the RMP in about a year. The RMP was last amended in 1998.

    You'll find it to be very capable even with stock tires. I did the Wheeler Pass run a few years ago totally stock with no problem at all.
