We got about 3-4" of snow up here I'd guess. The ST Maxx's are doing very well! They slip a bit on the road if I grab a lower gear and stomp on it otherwise smooth sailing. On dirt/snow covered dirt, they don't spin at all!

LOL, we went out to Wexford this morning from the northside via 279-79-910 then back into the city via Perry Highway and McKnight Rd. (19) with zero problems. Well correction, the only problem I had was the damn ABS and traction control almost getting me ran over a couple times by shutting the power down and locking up tires when ever it felt like it. Still need to get used to all these traction control devises and ABS. Is there a way to disable the ABS without voiding the warranty and so the dealer can't tell I did it?

There is a ABS kill switch write up. Could just hide the switch and turn it on when needed. Or some people pull the Fuse/Breaker for the ABS.

Wouldn't these be saved in the computers history when they hook it up for diagnostics? Just worried about the warranty mainly, can't afford to loose it due to something stupid.

    That I can't answer.

I'm actually surprised yours are so sensitive with the BFG A/T's on it. I had some clenched cheek moments with ABS when I still had my stock rugged trails on. But my Nittos made a huge improvement wit that. Although that snow today was slicker than I thought it would be, as cold as it was. Slid out of my driveway today backing out. It's a slight down slope to the street.

Yeah between the traction control devises and ABS on this truck I feel like a beginner driver trying to learn how to drive with this stuff taking over and kicking in. I thought I'd like the added safety of them but I'm not so sure, guess I'm just used to controlling the vehicles I'm driving myself whether it be a passenger car/truck or a tractor trailer. I'm mainly worried about the traction control b.s shutting down power or locking up tires when I'm trying to avoid someone else or pull out into traffic on rainy, snowy or icy roads. He'll it kicks on while on try pavement if I give it any gas around a ben while turning out onto the road.

I'll be doing a lot of reading this week on the abs mod and the traction control devises on here.

Check out this thread to start. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/te...uto-lsd-explained-easy-understand-i-hope.html
The guy really knows his shit about the all traction control shit on these trucks. A lot of people mess with him cause he is in love with A-Trac lol, but he seems to really understand how the system works for the most. And is helpful if you ask him something.

Thanks guys I'll check out the thread and try turning off the traction control to see if it helps. See ya'll at the meet, hopefully it warms up alittle for that. LOL

Mine sticks down when I push it so I set the truck in neutral and use the clutch cancel button then let it idle for a coupleminutes and I'm good to go

Shut off the TC and was actually able to drive the truck without problems, thanks again. I did notice it lagged alittle more and the braking was a lot stronger with the TC off. First vehicle I've owned that's so equipped so I'm still getting used to it and I've owned it for a year and an half. Lol

I hit the traction control button a lot in the winter to turn on the auto LSD. Instead of turning on 4WD to get up my driveway. I hit that and make it just fine. It's not much of an incline.

Like today I left it on Auto LSD since it was so cold figured I'd hit some ice patches here and there. Which I did. Then got home and it was like a blizzard, so needed it for the driveway anyway.

I shoveled yesterday. It's too damn cold to do it again. :D

I have a long gravel driveway but it's not flat.

Screw that I have a driveway, it definitely beats city on street parking which I do not miss at all. If I win the lottery I'm buying a house and building a custom garage with a heated floor using an antifreeze system in the concrete floor. My buddy has this done in his garage and it's warmer in his ten car two story garage (concrete floor on both levels) than it is in his house and he doesn't have a heater in the garage.

Yeah very slow return, it just threw me off because the rubicons clutch does not have that problem in the cold, it's not really a big deal it gets a little better once the trucks warmed up, and a heated garage floor would be awesome, maybe when I add the addition onto the house I'll make the new garage have one, drive way on the other hand not to worried about.

I did concrete work during college, heated basement floors are great too. Whole house benefits. So easy to install too (minus the fact you'd need to build a new house though)
