I ran into a post on expo of you making a rack for a 80 series LC. Can you get your hands on a 100 series?

Eventually. I am slammed right now with current orders and a few other new models but the 100 series is a high priority.

I have one basically done. I started building one for a guy on here last summer/fall. I did some revisions after I sent him the first one and am just fine tuning some things on it now before I send it out. Probably by the mid febraury you can expect to see one on the website, both a full length and half length.

    Zach,
Just wanted to leave this photo here, had one of your customers contact me about mounting the caprac without Thule rails. Basically just use a chop saw to cut 1 1/4" OD aluminum pipe to create wedges. If your shell is convex in all directions all 3 pairs of spacers you cut will be different heights to truly level the rack. I also bought 1 1/2" rubber washers at Lowes and punched the center holes much larger so the rubber washer could be more adjustable to move with the spacer as you adjust the spacers and level the rack...hope that makes sense.

I mounted my cabrac first and then clamp an aluminum yard stick to the cabrac across the top of the cross bars sticking off the back toward the shell. That gave me both a lateral and vertical mark to align the caprac with. You could probably get away with laying a couple of 2x4's across the cabrac and use them as guide to align the cap rac.

Awesome, thanks for posting that up. I am in the process of making a table of contents in the beginning of the thread so info is easier to find.

Zach, I was happy to discover that I can still fit in the parking garage at work with the rack on! I took off the recovery box since I only need it on wheeling trips though. The listed height on the garage is 6'4", but that's only at one lowpoint that I don't have to go through.

The rack is actually just below the height of my snorkel.

Nice, that is convenient. Rack is definitely low profile. I am surprised to hear it is lower than the snorkel even.

Thanks ! ...it was admittedly my second idea, the first idea was urethane spacers I got from energy suspension but it was impossible to cut or sand them to appear as clean as I wanted them to be....damn OCD ;)
