My wife drives a 2013 Prius with every electronic whistle and bell Toyota makes. Her previous 2007 Prius was also loaded. The 07's electronics were flawless (until it got totalled in a rear-end collision), and so far the 13's have been just as perfect.

I can't imagine a keyless fob, push-button start, or integrated Entune system on a Tacoma to be any less reliable than that.

Here is my wishlist for new Tacoma, I think these are fairly realistic hopes:

    - Same size as current gen
    - More aggressive styling
    - Same ground clearance with no sissy air damn like Colorado has
    - More powerful V6, capable of towing 7500 lbs
    - 25 mpg ish for V6, 28 for I4
    - South of $37 grand all optioned-out
    - More refined interior (I really like the updated Tundra interior, maybe something closer to that)

What I am hoping for but not banking on:
    - Manual transmission in V6 models. Toyota knows manuals aren't practical anymore, and CAFE regs are squeezing them out of the market. However if anyone were still to offer a manual on their V6 models, it would be Toyota because so many of their customers are asking for them.

What I don't really care about:
    - Diesel. I think Diesels are great for people who tow regularly, but initial cost, repair cost, and fuel cost all make gasoline engines still more practical for guys like me.

I think this is a fun game. I don't remember Toyota asking for opinions. 10 years with the same truck, and really nice sales numbers are probably telling them they are pretty smart. I think nearly everything posted on this thread would be nice options. But my real hope is they took their time on the design and features. If the next gen can survive 10 years with just minor tweaks, I think it's a success. I'd hate to see an entire redesign for 2018 because they rushed this one. My guess, exterior that half of us like, and half hate, but not enough to keep a "Tacoma guy" from purchasing as their next truck. Updated interior as many have said, and more engine options for mpg and power. I'm sure some promises that rust and other issues of previous generation have been resolved.

Often because I share vehicles with my wife. But power seat is not a deal breaker, just a bit of nuisance.

I was mainly harping on the push button as a the shittiest possible interface for keyless starts. But "push button" sells better than "rotary switch"...

I guess the Limited will have lots of features we see on the 4Runner and it will be $36-40k.

That's all fine and good but I'm curious as to how you're gonna stop
    Should be July
I don't like push button start. I like to crank it myself.... I built my computer and I'm building my truck. I don't want them to feel the same. The button is anticlimactic at best.

The gentleman told me that, as a "pale American," I didn't qualify for paletas. He did sell me an awesome Pistachio Creme Pop, but only if I didn't use the word paletas. "White boys don't deserve paletas...you kids get ice cream."

I'm 45. He got a tip for not taking any crap and having calves of steel (those trikes have one gear).
