I didn't read that exact article because I read a similar one last night, but that earthquake kind of fucked up the 2 day hunt I guess. Plus it was limited to private ranches anyway because of wildlife activists pushing lawsuits against the hunt...

 

My wife said that her brother on her farm have seen wolfs in the field. That is scary shit.

 

Northern to central Idaho is pretty full of wolves now it seems. Southern Idaho is starting to see more and they are starting to see several in Utah as well. Hell a while back they saw one at the Grand Canyon!

Last I knew Utah Fish and Game still claims there are no wolves in Utah so you could shoot one there and play dumb saying you thought it was a coyote because F&G said there are no wolves there.

Idaho F&G gives out several wolf tags every year now so there are plenty here.

 

So isn't someone on here from Boise area?

There's lot of wheeling near Boise. There are several wheeling clubs there, some of which have over 100 members. Mean while the club is Poky is pretty much dead and the one here in IF isn't doing much better...

As for camping I'm sure there is a lot of that nearby as well. Not sure about little cities though. Chris might know if he pokes his head in here.

Nothing much east or north of Boise. Everything is pretty much west as far as towns go. It's mainly treeless as far as timber as well unless you go north up 21, then it starts to get mountainous pretty quick. I would imagine that is where all the wheeling is from my searching for a place to live over the last 6 months.
West of Boise, you have:
Nampa, Meridian, Garden City, Eagle and further west is Caldwell, then it starts to thin out to the OR border. All these towns have a mix of acreage and urban type housing which is not what I am looking for, hence, the reason I haven't settled on anything.

Chris (Idalandho) does a bunch of wheeling around there and knows it pretty well. I'm going to pick his brain in 2 weeks when I get back there.

This is just from my searches in the area. I dont live there at the moment. I am sure there are some members that can be more specific than this.

I dont really do rural...so I really dont know much about rural towns lol. I guess if you head out any direction east or west you will find some small sparce towns

and members does not equal active members lol. There is a pretty clear line between the active guys in our club that are going out all the time and the inactive ones haha
