You had me until you removed the airbags. I don't like the taste of my steering wheel or B-pillar.

Cool and all but how is that not taking crap?
I see your point. I find a key-turned ignition to be a happy medium :D
That picture reminds me, I'm pretty sure someone will always say they want the basic and not the new features when talking about anything no matter how advanced things get.
If it existed before you were born, it's natural and okay to use.
If it gets invented while you're young, it's new and innovative.
If it gets invented after that, it's nonsense and broo-ha-ha.

That was my first thought. I think he meant power brakes though.

Most of those mandates are for the safety of others, so I'm fine with them. If someone wants to run around with low tire pressure, and no anti-lock brakes, and skid off a mountain, jokes on them. But, when they can't stop fast enough, and skid into an innocent bystander, then that's an issue.

Agreed. On another note, is there any more speculation that could possibly happen between now and the 12th?

Second gen tacoma looked like a 1st gen Tundra. So I'm predicting 3rd gen tacoma to look like the 2nd gen Tundra.

Speculations (which are more hopes then what I think will be reality.)
Sunroof and rear window that slides up and down like the 4runner and Tundra.
New to tacoma engines, but not new engines
    New Package

    The better coast
No brakes was a cliff hanger for me and I HAD to read the rest.

And if you wrap your steering wheel in bacon that will take the bad taste away.

I am speculating here, but I bet photos reach the press a couple days before the unveil. Specs will be withheld for actual event. Official and legit Colorado/Canyon pics "leaked" a few days before GM announced their new twins.

We are going to be surely disappointed in what Toyota about to put out. With all this hype.

I guess I'm a liar. The only reason I bought a Tacoma (new) is because it was the only bare bones 4cyl, 4wd left. I realize I'm in the minority, but that doesn't make me a liar. I left the lot with a $22,00 new truck, paid for. This truck covers all my NEEDS, nothing more.I have a car for luxury when wanted. I wanted something cheap, basic and reliable so a Tacoma it was.

I set my expectations low. It's a mid-sized truck, so I am not expecting anything revolutionary. Just evolutionary. Better MPG, fresh sheet metal and maybe a bit more capability. Toyota usually makes pretty plain, simple trucks to begin with (which is why they have their reputation for dependability/longevity).My goal is to buy a brand new Tacoma in the next few years so I am just excited to see something new. It's been a decade for Pete's sake.

I'm with you, my expectations can't be crushed because they aren't that high. It seems like there is only one way to go: A little improvement, nothing revolutionary, and fresh look.
The disappointment only lies in the aesthetics, fingers crossed.

I want a $22 brand new truck too! Wouldn't be as hard to make the payments on that thing.

Watch the reveal as it happens. Now you don't have to buy a $13 ticket nor live in Detroit, best of both worlds.
