I don't follow TW vendors all that closely, outside of things I personally want/need, which has been only Wheeler's Offroad, Headstrong Offroad, ImMrYo.

I'd buy from Rigid if I (a) had that much money to burn, AND (b) wanted warranty coverage that I'd actually be able to use 5 years down the road.

I like supporting small business, so likely I'd give me money to one of the TW members selling reasonably priced bars, but I'd do this with the reasonable likelihood that if I have a bar failure in 5 years I'll be SOL on warranty coverage. The warranty itself isn't worth (to me) the extra 3/4-2/3 price increase between one of the "average" light bars and the Rigid product.

If there's one thing I've learned in life it's that you pay for what you get. Saying that Rigid is over priced is like saying why buy Hellas, KC lights, or PIAAs when you can get halogen lights for $30 at the local parts store.

Sure, there's products other than Rigid that are good. But they are a company based in the USA with a product assembled by American workers using high quality components and good quality control.

This is coming from a guy who drops $$$ for a pair of Oakleys because they are superior and made in USA though.
And being an industry leader is promising for the company's future.

What kind of LEDs are we talking about here? Where are they going?

If you can try and buy products using Cree LEDs.

I want to convert my fogs, headlights and taillights to LED for better output and a better look for the truck using cool white.

I haven't heard of any LED vendor that hasn't had consistent issues with LED bulb replacement, whether those are headlight bulbs, tail light bulbs, turn signal bulbs, etc,. I've used LED bulbs on my last car (they were all LED, except head light bulbs) and had no issues with them, but as far as the Tacoma goes I've not seen any that haven't had issues. Someone just posted a thread in the last week or 2 about their LED bulb history, and he had LEDs from both "main" LED vendors on TW and replaced them all with superbrightled LEDs and had much better performance out of the bulbs FWIW.

I don't know what it is specifically about these bulbs being problematic by nature, but it is what it is. Even cheap LED bars seem to last quite awhile, with the common issue being weatherproofing which can be fairly easily remedied (or at least helped) with a little DIY weather sealing.

I think TashcomerTexas paid like $120 for his light bar off of Amazon or something, and it works just fine, super bright, no issues.

Yes, I don't want to keep sucking Rigid's dick as I don't care about Rigid at all, but they are definitely leading the pack in a very trendy industry. Rigid will remain when others die off, because they have the money and the capability to innovate. Every other LED vendor seems to be in the "knock off" business, and not releasing original products. Just variations of what everybody else sells.

I've never bought leds from a TW vendor. I suggest going to superbrightleds.com and trying some for your corner lights. Taillights wise forget bulbs, look for some OEM led ones or buy some Spyder tail lights. That's what I have.

Headlights and fogs are iffy, I don't know much about high output led retrofits.

So if I DID want to ignore all advice... I should go to superbrightleds?
    Someone mentioned CREE
Hmm. Decisions. Who's the authority on high output halogens so I can check them out? You said Silverstar earlier.
Sounds like you don't want to, but I just looked at your description under your name and damn, that is a lot of mods.

    OEM Led bulbs??

Ok, now I'm pissed. What a bunch of fucking sellouts.

I wish I had checked the frames of my new pair before I bought them last month. Still damn good glasses but I wouldn't have bought them if I new this. Every other pair I own was made here though

I can't recommend any LED supplier, just sayin' what I've read. Maybe Mr. Jimmie Rustler will chime in and say, since he's running full LEDs all around IIRC.

The LEDs I used on the previous car were custom made.

For high output halogen you have PIAA and Sylvania as the main brands, I think. I've heard more problems with PIAA and with Sylvania, but that's just me. I would try PIAA (maybe) if they were found local, but I like Sylvania as they're sold at every Walmart and every auto parts store damn near anywhere. PIAA isn't as available, so if I need to replace while on the road somewhere that is a problem.

People bitch about Sylvania's only lasting a year, but I've never replaced a set. Each vehicle has had Sylvania Ultra's in it going back to 1998, and that truck was sold in 2012 with the same set of bulbs and they still worked flawlessly. Use latex gloves to install them so you keep your finger oils off the bulb (which can/will lead to premature burn out as it creates a hot spot). I bought mine at Walmart for the Tacoma, and installed them in the parking lot. My first "mod" on any vehicle. I'm a fan.

While a lot of it is bolt on OEM stuff, its still fucking expensive....

For example: i know i over paid for the air filter, the bed mat, the front skid plate....

And its not that i don't want to, its just that i don't really want my whole spec sheet out there for the world....
