I don't understand because they were "Alaskan" and are better than anyone since they are used to fixing things without help but when a flat tire comes up you need help? Why wouldn't they have a land anchor or worst case boat anchor? When they changed the tire I'm pretty sure it was a different tire and rim than the rest now it's the same?

I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed to see the Rover guys back. Things were a lot more genial without them stirring up crap. (Which is probably why the producers let them return...:p)

As far as the Leigh Bothers/Pete and Shay situation, I dunno. I agree that Pete and Shay needed to do what they did. Sheesh, they just pulled the guys out of one mud hole for them to almost immediately get stuck in another. You have to draw the line somewhere to stay in the competition. And quite frankly, the Leigh bros have needed quite a bit more help than anyone else. At least Carl did allow them to use his anchor and Pete did walk it back to them, so they really don't have much to be butt-hurt about. On the other hand, Pete is increasingly appearing to be the type of guy that will accept your hand in friendship even as he slips the knife into your back, all the while smiling innocently to your face.

Mostly, I think the Rover team needs to bugger off and stop interfering with that AK vs the rest of the US attitude.

Caught up to s01e06 - we shall see. SO far, the only thing i have seen that reinforces things I have stated over the years.

    1. I need a rear winch
    2. Having a land anchor might be a wise investment.

That was a pretty tough spot to change a tire at, the truck was sideways and the tire was on the downhill side, wedged against a rock. I think someone else details, a few pages back, another thread on another site that has thoughts from Super Jeep Carl - and he indicated that was a very tough situation and required help.

As for the wheel and winch, I would assume this isn't a start to finish race. They are running a leg at a time. There may be some time in between legs - days even - and you could easily fix something or have replacement components delivered during the down time.

I haven't seen the most current episode though.

This is best show for a long time. You know, I have a feeling that old 4runner (brothers) or Iron Pig (Bill & Butch) will be a winner. :D
Now if any of these guys had ATRAC that race would have been over... :p

Shay drives really well but they are too slow.
Super Jeep its goign fall appart like all Jeeps do. I am surprised they are still there. That whole path is probably littered with Jeep parts.
Rover well, apparently takes two rovers to finish race if not more.:D

i doubt super jeep is made up of many if any actual jeep parts!

the editing is questionable on the show but i'm enjoying it as it continues.

Anyone else notice that they reused footage of butch acting like a bitch in the truck + the footage of the road right after from last week's episode?

Maybe it is just production vehicle. I still haven't seen the preview. Is there a link to it?

That's not true! I'm pretty sure that front window is from an actual Willis! [IMG]

Yeah, I saw that too, haha!

Why is it that every one of these I see are the exact same color? Yours is nice though. I'm afraid I'd have to paint it OD green if I had one. :p

Nah, more like the Odd Green Taco in my sig. ;) I actually didn't see the one in the background, but even if I had, I would have thought it was most likely the same color as yours because of the angle. Good call though.
