I switch back and forth from my Silent Armors, 275/70/17's, and my MTR's, 305/70/17's. Driving like Grampa, I can get 320 miles indicated for the S A's, that's like 345 miles adjusted for size. MTR's I'll be lucky to see 285 miles which equals about 310 in real milage. Driving way WAY easy to get those numbers. Usually put in between 17.5 - 18.5 gallons at the pump, almost three times a week. Drive a lot I do.

    DCSB 6 Cylinder. 434 Miles on 18.165 Gallons (88% of Tank) 23.315MPG.
I average 22.5 on regular routine of 17 miles to work. I average 23.5 when I take longer trips, say 160 miles round trip on interstate.

20 mpg is the best I ever recorded, and so a tank would be 420 miles (20x21).

15 mpg is more typical daily driving, and so a tank is 315 miles (15x21).

However, one should not drive until the tank runs out to get those miles. When the low fuel light comes on, you have about 4 gallons in the tank (17 gallons consumed).

At 20 mpg when light comes on is 340 miles, and at 15 mpg when light comes on is 255 miles.

According to Fuelly, Summer im around 19.5 miles per gallon. Winter drops to the 17's.

I usually fill up around 350 miles and it's always around 17.XXX gallons.

I've gotten 450 miles on a tank, but I was sweating bullets for that last stretch of 70 miles on the low fuel light. I was coming back from Lake Havasu going towards Barstow, CA and I didn't want to pay the $4.50/gallon they were asking in Needles, CA and the one gas station in between Needles and Barstow so I pushed it to get to the $3.10/gal in Barstow. Pretty stupid. I should have got like $20 of gas just for safety in Needles.

July 13, 2014: Went 402 miles on 18.43 gallons. There was a slight breeze rolling in from the northeast and Bono had just finished hugging an African child.

My best MPG was 22.7mpg tho, which is how I score my best tank.

The only time I got that was when driving on a highway consistently above 5,000 feet for most of the tank. Less air, less fuel. Mostly in my rig (same as yours) I am getting about a 320 miles range. I budget that each quarter tank gives me 80 miles. Although I can drive up to 90 miles before the needles falls below 'F'. Then the 4/4 quarter goes in about 80 miles, then the 3/4 block goes in about 45 miles. I think the gauges may not be quite accurate. That 320 mile range is not until empty, it is until I feel uncomfortable and start nervously looking around... like there better be a petrol station around here.

Honestly, I am disappointed in my Taco's range. To get the full capacity of 21.1G I have to spend a lot of time topping it off. Just filling until the pump handle switches off gives me about 18 US Gallons.

    LOL

Well, that would be helpful if there was an official TW unit of fuel called a 'tank'! Just assign a gallon figure for the masses here who refuse to provide us with the useful number of gallons instead of the obscure quantity: "tank"!!??

A tank holds 21 gallons, so is that your tank?

The needle is on the E line at 18 gallons consumed, is that your tank?

The low fuel light just came on at 17 gallons consumed, is it that amount?

You fill up at the 1/4 tank line (which is 13 gallons consumed), is that a tank to you?

21, 18, 17, 13 (pick one) is what you put in the tank at 320 miles? See, it really matters what a 'tank' is for us to have any useful information from a post here on mileage.

In this thread, most of you are actually providing the miles... Bravo!

500.1!!! I chickened out at 498 and got off the interstate and drove around town for two miles and stayed close to the nearest gas station:eek: for safety. 19.75 gallons used for an official 25mpg:headbang::headbang:The awesome thing was I paid just 1.65 a gallon for that tank in Idaho.
Could the new K&N filter I put in two days before have helped me get 25 mpg? The next tank I got 24 mpg as my low fuel light didn't come on until 400 miles. My tank I got 500 miles the light didn't come on until 435! Would these air filters help or was it my driving under 55mph?
