I would trade you for the new style when they come available. If you want.

I have the flip key style, is there a video or some kind of instructions on how to replace the battery? It looks like I can just grab each end and pull (chinese finger trap style) but wanted to check just in case.

Nevermind, figured it out. Flat head screw driver to pry in half then half again along the seams. Took 5 seconds.

It depends on the quality and function, but if it is better than sure.

I'm aware of the issues with the key ring. On real VW keys, I used to modify them for my clientele.

    This thread sucks.

Also yes seriously, but put it behind the cereal box because I'll come your way and have you program to my fob. :anonymous:

Alan said when he came to your place you gave him a big hug and had a nice smile, so worth the drive.

what issues with the key ring? I've had a VW with a flipkey before, but never had it ringed to other keys.

That's why you never saw any issues. The key ring snaps off as its holding the weight of all the keys when your driving.

Only thing missing is the Logo for the keys. I get them in next week.

I'm in for an all-in-one VW style flip key.

Do all new Tacos come with a transponder in the key? I don't have a O dot or a G on my key. Much appreciated for the info.

You don't have a transponder then. Mine doesn't either.

I assume you have a 4 cylinder or non TRD? My truck is an SR5 2.7 and have no transponder key. So I bet you fall in one or both of the same categories.
