I have an o6 dclb with 150070 miles on it
The frame is starting to rust but not bad yet all surface to this point


Big Fixes....

Lower control replacement
New u joints
New leaf springs

 

2005 Tacoma 4x4 Off-Road Edition.

Maintenance:
- changed passenger side CV axle. Only because boot had a slight rip.
- CV axle seal
- passenger side inner tie rod

 

Hey guys have you changed your O2 sensors and fuel Injectors??

I thinking of doing a big overall haul for moab. I have 127K on my truck right now

thinking of doing
-02 sensors upstream and down
- Fuel Injectors
- thermostat
- Ball joints upper and lower
- new bushings for the lower arms.
- Diffs/tranny/tcase
- Brakes front and back
- New plugs
- maybe spark plug coil packs.
- maybe wheel bearings.

 

I've done the following around 130k:

front diff, rear diff, transfer case, front brakes, throttle body. I just recently changed the battery, passenger cv axle, passenger inner tie rod. I still need to change the spark plugs. also, going to replace old springs/rear shocks/rear brake lines soon. maybe before mod day. we'll see.

 

I am just scared from what happen to travel and his engine

 

well he said he was burning a lot of oil, trans temps over 230 (mine 210 max) and i believe he said he drives 80+ on freeways and mobs up the cajon pass. all that having very negative impact and reckless I think.

 

true. Wish i knew what my trans temp reached.

 

you dont have a scanguage II? plus all that weight with bumpers/skids/tires on stock gears. I only put on my skids when i go wheeling. saves about 70 pounds.

 

No plus i am manual so it wont tell me anyway.

With putt on the armor when you go wheeling do notice the mpgs?

 

hmm. maybe i'll plug mine into your truck and see what happens. I can definitely feel the weight difference in acceleration. im sure it helps a little when the skids are off.

Has anybody at 150,000 had to replace your timing chain cover gasket? I'm at 106,000 and mine is weeping/kinda leaking, but DANG I don't want to replace it!

 

Adrian have your valve cover leaked?
Mostly your passenger side.

I just noticed mine a while ago. Thought it was from the oil dip stick at first. Here are some pics before I wiped it down.





This is about 500 miles after I cleaned it. Just took the pics a few days ago.

 

I have not even made to the 20000 yet.

 

Yours almost look like a bad valve cover gasket, since your oil stains are so high( actually on your valve cover). My cover is clean and all my oil stains are below on my block and power steering pump.

 

Yea. That's what I've been researching. Just need a new gasket. Wiped it 500+ miles ago and still looks like I wiped yesterday. But I monitor every couple days.

 

I think that is the same exact spot mine is at.
