Yeah, find em used or just get a auto zone one. Unless you have a front locker wheel like Silas, it'll be fine. Mine held up for 3+ years but I haz no locker.

This. Camelback is the cheapest I found when shopping for one. $370 and shipping should be free.

I think there are varying quality aftermarket brands. I am running one that I purchased from my local auto parts store for $80 and the first one blew a boot in 3 months and developed a few degrees of torsional play in the joint. Also it seems to bind a little at full articulation (which is probably why the slop developed). Meanwhile the stock axle on the other side has 18 year old boots and no issues. But you're right, I think you really have to beat on them to actually break one. I've yet to actually render one unusable.

I do have a front locker but I don't plan on using it like an idiot. I think I'll be okay, the ones I have currently are in great working order I just figured while I was in there I would replace.

Check out CVJ. They remanufacture OEM CVs and you can get them with high angle boots.

Not trying to be a douche, just more for your safety.
You say that now but when the conditions are right...snap.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
I'm running 33x12.5 on 15x8, 3.6ish backspace, and I don't find any real need for extra width. I actually ran spacers for awhile but ditched em. Might try it without. You might rub less than with. Just my 0.02

I still hold to the idea that with 33x12.50x15's on 15x8 wheels, 3.75" backspacing is best compromise between having no frame rub and not rubbing the fenders at full stuff.

I did actually rub this weekend for first time in awhile. Kinda surprised me. Weight must have settled the springs a bit more. Not sure where cuz of mud but I assume fenders.

Oh yeah, I definitely rub at full stuff. But as far as I know anything above 3.75" will push 33's or larger into the frame at full lock. Referencing ~3" of lift of course.

Nah your good I know what you mean but they were on the truck when I got it and I havnt fooled with taking them off but I may this weekend if it isn't to cold cause they still rub after I trimmed and I don't think they will without the spacers

Installed SPC UCA's. Pretty easy install except that I had to go rent a pickle fork to get the ball joint off of the UCA. Beating on it with a mallet for an hour did nothing. 3 jaw puller was a life saver at removing the ball joint from the spindle as the rental ball joint press was too long and awkward to use. Alignment results after a visit to the local shop were 0 camber, 0 toe, and 2.1 caster on both sides. Quality product for a good price (370 shipped on ebay). I thought I may be able to get away with not installing UCA's but with an OME 881 lift the best alignment results were 0 camber, 0 toe, 0.5 caster. Rode like crap.

Hey man do you have a wright up to your retros? I just flipped through 32 pages of your build thread and decided to ask the source instead.
