I noticed that too. Almost doesn't go with the truck.

Only way I can see it is maybe chopping off the bottom of the ginormous grille lol. Going to be a challenge.


Why does it look like the rear tire is sticking out past the fender in this pic?

 

Nothing is ever going to appeal to everyone, but that thing is butt ugly.

Toyota just fucked up in my opinion. Maybe in 10 more years they'll get some sense and produce a 4th gen that looks halfway decent.

I'm so glad I have my 2012.

Glad I bought a 13'.... best front end toyota has come up with hands down... I think the new rear end with a 12-15' front end would be perfect.... throw a fuel sipping v-8 or some type of diesel and that could easily be the best selling truck in the US.

 

I also just posted in two of the other 23 threads about the aftermarket guys have their work cut out for them building a front bumper. Although I'm on my phone the massive gap under the grill looks to be a potential pita to fill.

Drag coefficient, that's what the front end looks like to me. Better MPG. Hope they keep the 4.0L. I miss the Jeep like (or smaller) size of my 99 Taco. We might look back and miss the 4.0L.
It will be better in some ways and not in others. For the people that don't like the way it looks. When the 12's came out many didn't like the looks until they lifted them. Now the same thing.

I think it looks great. Very similar overall shape as the 2nd gen and not so different in terms of details that it won't appeal to the same customers it has always appealed to.

 

Hopefully the aftermarket comes up with some better looking tail lights!

 

Finally a factory tailgate lock. Wonder if it's powered?
