Yeah, it never caused me to many problems around town because it was never deep enough. I did get into some deep stuff in the mountains and if it was wet they sucked but they did fine in powder.

The upside is I really liked them on ice which was more prevalent than snow in our area.

 

My FJ80 has the cooper STT's on it. They did fantastic in the snow, haven't really tested them in other conditions.

The Duramax is shod with Nitto Trail Grapplers, and they are a great all around tire but have a pretty hard compound for rocks.

For me, no more KM2's. I destroyed 7 of them in one year, and one was patched twice. Caught two simultaneous flats on camera at 80mph. Exhibit A: 42 seconds in or so.

Last set of Toyo MT's lasted me 60k miles and could have gone another 10k at least. Aired down they are pretty good, at 12psi last weekend I was going through 2 feet of snow, granted with over 300lbs between camping gear and rtt, but still did well.

 

They aren't really stiff ?

 

Glad to hear that, some people seem to get low miles out of them and I can't figure out why. I just purchased a C rated set. What are yours?

 

I wish duratracs came in 255/80/17

another size I'm interested in is the Cooper Maxx 34x10.5x17 which is essentially 265/80/17

Oh yeah, my BFG Baja's eat that shit up. So did the Goodyear GSA's they replaced. Zero flats or bent/broken rims with either tire.

 

Its an E rated tire so it is a bit stiff but thats what Im used to, never had anything less than E rated.

 

My last 2 sets have been E rated , I thought I read that those particular tires were stiffer than most at regular psi settings

 

I guess they are, on both trucks that I have driven a lot in my 3 years of legally driving, both have had toyo mt's with e rated, so honestly I don't know anything different. I've read that the sidewalls on these tires are extremely thick, more so than any other E rated tire of the same size.

Exactly. I've had 3 screws go right into my tire, pulled them out and no leakage. Thats what makes me want to stay with toyo mt's..

Cam, which RTT did you get? I wasn't aware you had one.

 

I am running 255/80-17 KM2s pizza cutters siped so I will report back how they perform on the 17th.

Pre-siped=> lots of sliding and spinning on wet pavement
Post-siped => mo' better traction on wet pavement, little to spinning
