I agree. I think it will look better lifted and with bigger tires. Also wonder what the interior and engine/trans will be.

I can't believe that after a decade, this is what they serve up.

This is an incredibly profitable vehicle for Toyota. It sells 150K units per year, for god's sake. And with that kind of volume, they can't even redesign the cab sheet metal after 10 years?

What a joke. I'm sorry - I liked Toyota trucks. I wanted to buy the 2016. But this is just insulting. It says a lot that I would honestly prefer the new Hilux.

    Just for comparison:

    I was expecting them to:

    1. Spend the same amount of money that any car company would spend on a ground-up redesign of a highly profitable high volume model. After 10 years, that's not a lot to ask.

    2. Make sure that most people think it looks damned good. This is the mainstay Toyota truck, and it sells on desirability. It's not like it's some wayward niche model. Ford put a lot of effort into making sure that Mustang people would like the new Mustang, as did GM with the Camaro. Toyota's effort looks totally half assed in comparison.

    3. Have a bed that matches the cab. The contours don't even match. WTF?

    4. Not include a bunch of dummy vents and a grill that is clearly bigger than what the truck needs, which is why it's half covered in plastic. Toyotas used to be legit trucks. I agree with the other poster who said this looks like it's for poser soccer dads.

I think this is a major f-up by Toyota, and it's going to cost them. Well it's going to cost them my money at least. It sounds like the majority of other people on here are similarly unimpressed.

I can't believe how people are losing their minds when we don't know all the details yet.

Other than the heavy duty U.S. trucks I can't think any mainstream truck that doesnt look like its for "soccer dads" or even soccer moms as that's who drive most of the F-150's, Sierras and Silverados I see around here that arent work trucks. The only reason the current Tacoma has escaped that so far is because of its age.

I am hoping that at least the doors are preproduction and that the stampings are not done yet for the new design. The fenders look identical in styling to those on the newest 4Runner, I imagine that matching doors (similar to those on the 4Runner) would look much better.

It's senseless that they should have to make a completely new truck which shares nothing in with the previous generation.

Are you going to tell me that the manufacturer of the best selling truck in America for 3 decades doesn't know what there doing as well? This cab style has been around since 98 and has seen several generations and 4 different diesel engines.

It will do well whether you buy one or not, and the bed matches the cab just fine done know what you're talking about.

The front edge of the bed is going to catch kick up and be a major rust spot on this truck.

So they changed the headlight and taillight shape, added a little more flair to the wheel wells and stuck a new front end and tailgate on the same old truck.

    LMFAO.

    C-YA TOYO!!

I think Toyota should have released more pictures of different cab configurations. The trim model they showed is the yuppie soccer mom trim. I bet it looks good with some All Terrains and an off-road package.
I am disappointed this is just another refresh 10 years in, but I don't DISLIKE the design. It will grow on people.
In the past I don't think I liked many newly-unveiled trucks until I saw them in person. On Monday we will see the real details!

Yep, just sold my 2013 TRD SPORT DCSB. Piece of junk would not go down the road straight.

Had a 86, 01 TRD OFFROAD DCSB, 03 Sequoia, went RIDGELINE in 08 based on pricing, got the 13 mentioned above.

My dad still has a mint 2001 Tundra even though the frame is a POS even after warranty work.

FANBOYS unite. If you can't see this for the absolute JOKE that it is, you are blinded by love.
