Hate to break it to you, but see the pic. I just bought about 40 of these. Maybe 26 is 2wd.

No I don't see a joke, I don't know what's under the hood and can't make assumptions yet. You should have tried an alignment. And finally, I'll bet it remains the top selling mid size truck in America.

Most importantly I think everyone should wait until the 12th to see what the changes actually are.

Didn't know people on here could be so ignorant.

First everybody was crying about how they shouldn't change the body just the powertrian and interior, saying everybody likes the current style and its still modern after ten years, etc. Now people are whining cause they left the same cab? You all wanted it to look like a 2nd gen, didn't you?

And I'm setting here laughing at everybody on there ignorant remarks when we don't even know the full specs. Its a full redesign people, live with it!
I'll bet that most will hate it, then after a few months they will want one, or wish they had one. If you dont like it, then don't buy it, quit talking about it cause no one cares how much you think Toyota screwed up because you think they should have kept there 10 year old truck, go buy a 2nd grn if you don't like the new one. Its as simple as that, first gen guys still do it, and so can 2nd gen guys.

Tried multiple alignments. Tires were shot at 9k miles on a brand new truck. Sorry, don't convince me that TOYOTA is awesome. They are nothing like my older vehicles. Not saying they are junk, they are just not that great.

Top selling when you are one of two vehicles in the market is not something I would brag about at saying you are the best. OK, they out sell the Frontier, you win.

The pics are correct. We are not going to see a new engine, my guess is a new transmission with an extra gear for highway MPG. That will be it.

Well one part you're 100% correct on is Toyota will not care what people here say. It's done and will be what it will be. I think many of the comments some of mine included are just from disappointment and initial impressions is all. Once full details are out I'll firmly then decide. If they only have limiteds at Detroit that will affect my thoughts as need to see this in trd fashion, color Keyed no Chrome and hopefully some different grill looks etc...

That wasn't all directed at you, btw. It is just the reality of the business these days. Homogenization is where everything is going so things like compact/midsize trucks are getting pushed toward the fringe. I fear that a 6th gen 4Runner won't happen for this reason. How can they justify the money it costs to keep a relatively small group of buyers happy when they only move 50k a year. You either get volume up (not happening with BOF SUVs) or you reduce cost and put your money where it has the most bang for buck. Most everyone else has decided to leave the market until just recently where GM is using global economies to make their twins make sense. I figure Tacoka and Hilux will have no choice but to merge in 6 or 7 years.

It's supposedly sitting on a new frame.

Lets say it has the same exact cab shell and door shells. If it was on a new frame with a new power train, new interior, and other things, then I consider that to be a big change. But we don't know

A lot of cry babies this morning, considering Toyota hasn't even released other specs: engine, transmission, interior, etc...

From these pics I pulled from here http://toyotanewsroom.com/album_display.cfm?album_id=1007&section_id=421 you can see that the rear view mirror has some sort of sensor on it. Also the part between the two doors looks like its simply painted black. On the 5th gen 4runners they're lower profile. In the other picture you can see the black plastic piece behind the rear wheels. Most likely the replacement for the mud flaps.

Since you are so adamant that it won't get a new engine, I want you to change your signature to "I'm wrong about everything, Don't listen to me." if there is a new engine. I'll do the same if the V6 is not new. Deal?

Why are you on these form then, it is for Toyota/ Tacoma enthusiast, and you don't seem to be very enthused. And if you dont like them then why don't you buy something else, that sound like a good idea.

And just because you think Toyotas are not great or whatever don't go calling people fanboys, anyone here who has worked on there truck, knows it has flaws.

The second Gen is the truck that killed off the Dakota, Ranger, and Canyon/Colorado. The big three pulled out because they had the full sizes to take care of. Of course it only had the Frontier after all those models were axed.

Looks like an LED strip turn signal to me.

Those black things look like air diffusers for squeezing out extra mpgs
