I think the biggest point everyone who doesn't like it is missing: they discontinued the Dunlop AT20 as the stock tire!

Looks like they kept the plastic bed which I don't care for. They did add a bed light, finally! I don't like the low valence but they're doing this to improve MPG. Look at a new Silverado, the valence is a few inches from the ground on their 4x4's, stupid. I like the look of it overall and I am glad they didn't go completely crazy with design. It looks rugged, yet refined which is nice.

The one thing I like about the Tacoma is so far generations are every 10 years. This keeps their cost down and lets you know they're dependable. Chevrolet used to do the same thing and so did Ford on their 1/2 ton trucks. Now it seems like they update them constantly which means more chances for problems because you have less R&D time.

If Toyota wants to keep with 10 year generations, which I think they should, they should keep the body and chassis the same and update the drivetrains and interiors. Technology increases so rapidly that you can't wait 10 years between motors and transmission. Everyone wants better/faster/stronger all the time.

I am considering going to a 3rd gen but I am probably not like most consumers. I care less about looks and more about reliability. The selling point for me will be MPG and drive train options.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    Hey I made 60 000 miles on them :D

But it looks what Toyota did is the same thing they did with "New" Tundra.
Its the same "new" Tundra just with couple face lift redraws.

I have no issue with mud flaps. The issue is plastic vs. rubber flaps. My 2001 had rubber 4WD flaps and they worked great and never came off. My 2005 had hard plastic (for looks) flaps that did not flap, they just snapped off with a drop into a rut, over a rock or even with a lot of mud sticking to it! My 2010 as well, are useless if you off road. I removed my 2010 flaps after the first time one snapped off (truck was a month old).

I think the look will be ok, even though it's closer to 2nd gen we thought it would be (bad and good, depends).

The worst part is really the front bumper interface with the fenders which will make aftermarket steel bumpers look really bad :(

The truck looks like it's squinting. I'm sure it'll grow on me, but I don't love the front end yet. I do like the tailgate, though.

I want to see interior pics.

True, why would anyone want to buy a truck which needs glasses after driving off the lot. Preexisting conditions really kill resale.

I also like the tailgate. I already wish i had the sunroof.

I hated the look of the 12+ when they first came out. Now it's an accepted standard to me. This, too, will become normal.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Aftermarket bumper without cutting is going to be hard.
