Wow you got some hate this morning for I.t. guys across the ocean. What happened? Do they keep telling you to turn it off and on to see if that fixes the problem?

I am IT, but my company is owned by an India company. So we aren't allowed to support our selves, we have to call into them. They just migrated our email over to Office 365, but they hadn't thought it through. Not only was it done in a way that violates many of of our customer's contracts, but also HIPA.

The also broke our way to easily change our email password. I have fallowed their retarded steps for the last two days, still unable to access email. Called India today and they have hung up on me three times. I actually want to do my job this week, but they wont let me!!!!

Yes it is. They took our exchange servers away and fired our team (email), so they could integrate us for a more simple email system. It is stupid and run by people that know nothing about IT.

The migration broke all the group emails and they said they would look into it after they were done migrating. Oops! wait, that is how we deal with 99% of our customers, from a shared mailbox, not our personal one.

    They no listen to anyone.

And companies wonder why people go postal. It really makes you think about how these fucktard are smart enough to get hired to run a company and make allot more money then most of us.

well a much larger company that we are on the fringe of merging with, outsourced everything. outsourced the entire IT group offshore/onshore and it didnt go so well for a $46 BILLION dollar company. They are wanting to merge with us for our IT organization which is in-house. They regretted the multi-million albeit billion dollar mistake in outsourcing it and making a sh!t ton of unhappy customers, employees you name it.

on paper it may look good, but in the near future it always costs more in wasted time and efforts.

They did! Well im glad I didnt get a call back yet then hahaha. But yes it will usually cost you more to do that kind of stuff. And not just upfront cash. But customer service. Loss of customers and having to get them back. Employee moral. Money to try and move it back or fix the problem , investors etc. All over trying to save some money on the bottom line and look good. Its a terrible practice that very seldom pays off. But everyone thinks they will be the ones to pull it off and make it better. Oh well. What can we do. :notsure:

This happened at T-Mobile. They laid off the backbone IT admins that supported all the cell tower engineers and all stores. I heard for many months after how it bit them in the ass and how many customers (employees) suffered.

In my case, we are their outsource. The 3rd largest company in India bought us because we were in the US. We handle all the US companies that require by law or contract, US support. Actually just signed a major Canadian company that has some of the same laws, requiring us to contract with Canada Bell to handle things that have to be on Canadian sole.

They did try and move a lot of our jobs back to India, but things like mainframe confused the hell out of them and they had to move the jobs back. They promote and changes departments every 18 months until they make manager. Most of our mainframe guys have 20+ years experience doing it, something they just don't understand in India.

Getting a call back from our company would be a good thing. Things are only brighter for us after the merger. They are going to scale back the outsourcing group to tier 1/2 type stuff. we still need alot more employees to support the new $70~ billion dollar nationwide company with 70K employees..

really?? I used to work there as a contractor 06-07. Before Infocrossing it was WiPro.

Does Tim Malcolm(?) still work there?
I was a 31/25P. Attached to 501st MI Brigade APAC,11th Signal Brigade down at Ft Huachuca.
    Wipro keeps soliciting job offers.

funny though Chip, i work right across the street from you at US Foods.

It was iStructure before Infocrossing, and then Wipro bought them, I think we officially dropped in the infcrossing and are now JUST Wipro. No one tells me anything.

Malcolm left about a year ago, maybe a little longer. Got tired of all the bullshit.

I was a 31R attached to 2/43 ADA, 108th ADA Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corp out of Ft. Bliss.

This outsource Blues is a poular tune hare where I work. Some New guy with 15 minutes experience makes a pitch that "will save hundreds of thousands". Now he knows nothing of the existing system, it's existing capability, or the extent of it's importance, Upper Managment just hears the "Save dollars" part and off we go. that was five years ago, we went from a strong market leader to now number 2 or 3, our biggest cutomers are shopping for more reliable goods because the Mallasia plant just cannot put out the good on time or 100% functional.

The custome is pissed, not delighted. Our experienced workforce was mostly layed off. Upper managment is making more $$, but everyone else is screwed. Tell me how that is good?

    Off my soapbox now.....
