Looks like the interior will feature circular air vents. And it seems the seats will be the same or similar since the pull tabs in the rear seats are still there.

Lol, the cruise control on my parents 2014.5 Camry is exactly the same style as the on in my 1996 Taco. I guess it's exactly the same vehicle then.

Re-using buttons, bolts and screws is one thing. Using the same exact cab is another for calling something "all-new".

I've mentioned this twenty other times, but the Ford super duty has used what looks like the same cab, doors, and door handles since 1999. Since 99 it has seen the 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7 Powerstroke engines and is in its third generation now.

Just because it has the same cab doesn't mean it's not a complete redesign

Ford never claimed the refreshed Super Duties were "complete redesigns".

But it's in its third generation, and the cab has been around 6 years before the Tacomas 05 redesign.

If you drove one truck from each of those generations you wouldn't be calling it the same truck with a new face. It's an all new truck.

The Colorado/Canyon were complete redesigns. Not the Tacoma. Complete means complete. I'd say this is a 2/3 redesign. Gen 2.2 like stated above.

The Colorado/Canyon had to be a full design. It was terrible and exited the market a few years back.

Listen I am not saying it's not gonna be a killer truck and crush the competition. It probably will be, but it is not totally new. By any definition.

Here you go in 2008 it was a complete redesign.
    http://www.edmunds.com/ford/f-250-super-duty/2008/?sub=supercab&ps=used

    What's New for 2008
The 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty has been fully redesigned. Under the skin, a number of major upgrades take place. Ford says the chassis is stronger than before and now has a new type of coating for improved corrosion resistance. The rear suspension has also been tweaked to improve ride and handling without compromising capability. For power, there's an updated version of the PowerStroke diesel engine. It now displaces 6.4 liters and makes an impressive 350 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Also new this year are higher-grade cabin materials, a standard MP3 audio jack, available power telescoping/folding side mirrors and a unique, drop-down tailgate step that makes getting into the bed easier.

If you are using the same door panels and cab, it is not "complete" regardless of what the manufacturers say.
They could have at least re-molded the doors. The middle of the Tacoma looks aged while the front and rear look like new trucks. Why not just spice upt he doors a bit too?

Could have to do with safety ratings. The Tacoma has performed fairly well in crash tests and Toyota may have decided to make little changes rather than big ones.

So if 75-80% of the truck is new that's not enough for you?

Should they have not used a single bolt from the current one?

IIRC the automakers consider anything over 50% technically all-new.

I like my Tacoma. I like the look of the new one even though I won't be buying anything for several years. That must make me a fan boy .

I am still a Tacoma fan and will probably get one when it's time to take my '02 out to pasture. I really want to see the other cab configs (DCLB in particular).

Most everyone didn't even want the body to change no they change everything but the cab and everyone is throwing a fit.
