On my 2005 my interior lights seem to be full brightness when I have no headlights or parking lights on, but when I scroll my headlight switch to either the parking or headlights the lights dim quite a bit on the inside and I can't turn them up. My dimmer knob is scrolled all the way up, and I've tried searching on here but can't seem to find anyone else who's having this same issue, any ideas?

I guess that makes sense for at night, but mine seem to get much dimmer than I would like. I can hardly see the clock time at all..

    It's a day/night thing.

You need more light in the day to see the panel.

At night you don't need that level of light.

So when you turn on the lights, it thinks it's night, and auto dims.

I would much rather have it stay the same brightness and then control it via the dimmer switch if it's too bright. It gets way to dark.

Leave your lights off, and it will stay bright.

I do during the day but when it starts to get dark i turn my lights on and it's just too dark for my liking.. Does anybody know if there is a possible workaround?

uh.. not normal with engine running.

    OP
    Whats your truck voltage ?
Do you have tow package alternator or regular (130A vs 90A)?
Have you check connections from battery?

My battery is completely fine and I have the 130 with the tow package, seems it's a normal problem for other members on here.. Either way I guess I'm just interested in finding out if there is a work around.

His profile says '99, but the third word of his post says 2005.

I'm going with the post. ;)

you know it is supposed to dim

if you think it is dimmer than it was designed you might need a new dimmer rollswitch
