I would probably trade my truck in tomorrow if it were a 2.5ish liter 4cyl direct injected turbo making over 300hp. The engine in our Optima is a 2.0L GDI 4cyl turbo making 274hp and that engine is incredible. We get about 30mpg mixed driving it like assholes. We reset the mpg counter once and took a trip to Lincoln NE and over the course of the trip there, three days driving around town and back we averaged 37.5mpg. I absolutely love that engine and if we could get something slightly larger making slightly more power in a Tacoma I'd do it in a heartbeat. Not to mention tweaking turbo charged applications to make more power is SO friggin' easy.

Yeah I quite honestly don't care if it's a diesel or a turbo gasser. Just give me something with factory forced induction. Loved the B7 in my Audi and I didn't even tune it for more power.

Interior my guess is they took away auto down/up for the drivers window... Still makes me laugh that the 2nd gens only have the drivers side. My 2000 runner has both sides. Let's see they prolly went with a cheaper plastic interior like every other auto maker is doing annnnnddddd you get to keep the same 6cyl is my guess.
    lmao yes they do!
    Case and point :p

I had a few tubo charged Audi's and I traded a 2008 2.0T in on our 2011 Kia Optima and I can tell you that I'm done spending the money on Audi's. This car made my 40k mile loaded A4 feel like a 1990's Honda by comparison. The fit, finish and materials were noticeably better. I also had a GIAC chip in my A4 and my bone stock Optima was noticeably faster and got about twice the mpg's. I realize that's it's not apples to apples w/AWD v FWD but other than not being able to drive like an asshole in the snow the pros far outweigh the cons between the two vehicles. If I can get something akin to that in a Tacoma I'd be stoked. Otherwise, I'm content to keep my truck until the wheels fall off. Then, I'll replace the wheel bearings and keep on truckin'! :D

I had a 2005.5 2.0T quattro 6spd and it was nice but I got it for half price from family for basically what I sold my crappy low-mileage 2005 Chevy Malibu for. After driving my Dad's new 2013 or 2014 2.0 A4 I'm not as impressed with the new ones.

    No, you don't. Trust me.
Yep, Riverside and Mulberry. If I could have shoehorned the van in there, I would have. I might be back in the early morning. :D
