Meh. Hitting a dog at all does nothing. Don't leave your tablet available to your dog. Problem solved.

Different methods for different dogs. My parents dog doesn't respond well to a spank or a no. She needs to be taught by immediate discipline such as lemon juice on something she likes to chew.

Ash responds well to a spanking. He won't mess with the tablet again and I won't have to hide it . He isn't shy to the hand or to the items he once chewed up.

I read some where once that everyone wants a disciplined dog but no one wants to see how they are made. I get the same response as you gave me from people because Ash has an e-collar. If they only could see his reaction when I pull the collar out they would probably think different.

Not really too similar, but I got LECTURED once from a woman about having a prong collar on my dog. She didn't know that we'd used 6 other collars to help curb her addiction to pulling and that if you grab any of those collars she cowers and runs away from her leash. She runs over and sits for her prong collar to go on.

But apparently it's extremely painful, barbaric, and tortuous.

That's how Ash is with food . My roommate gets pissed but there's no stopping him. He loves food, always has, and probably always will. I don't discipline over that as he is also food aggressive and I ask my roommate countless times to pick up the food after his dog eats to avoid problems. I found that if there is no food, there are no problems

No. My oldest son is from my 1st marriage. He goes to a city school. Did You go there?
Trained dogs are not hit in any way. I don't currently own a dog. I don't have the time to properly train/take care of a dog. But I grew up with dogs my whole life. We trained them, and never an issue. Except for maybe the occasional hole dug in the yard.

Buddy of my dad was a K9 officer. His dog would murder you and your whole family if told to do so. But was a perfect pet otherwise. Just have to take the time to get to that point.

Yeah, by a bark and maybe a snap from the other dog. Not a hand to the ass. Beavis'd.

I've never seen a trainer hit a dog to train it properly. Just sayin.

Ever seen a dog fight over a bone? Its not just a nip to the throat. Its an all out brawl. Bet one dog leaves that damn bone alone once everything is done.

My dog comes on command, stops, sits from any distance, waits, lays at any distance. All under a year old. When I went to the dog park every ones dogs were out of control. Not mine. Maybe they need to give a nice spank to their pooch.

Plenty of gun dogs here are trained with a swift boot to the butt. I'm sure trainers now days also have to follow very specific methods in hopes of not getting sued.
