Picked up the steel last weekend and will have a rolling frame by the end of today.

Frame is 2''x2''x.120 wall square and 1''x3''x.120 wall rectangular. Cargo area will be 4'x8'. Wheels are 15" aluminum trailer wheels with 28" tires on 2,000 pound torsion axles.

The trailer will have 2' tall sides with a removable hard lid (will slide in a channel, that's "phase 2" at this point". Will be equipped with a removable rack for my roof top tent.

The goal is to have something that can carry the tent and camping gear with the versatility to be used as a utility trailer as needed.

Will be towed by the Tacoma and the Yukon, hence why I didn't go through the expense to match lug pattern / wheels / tires with the Tacoma.

Will have 16-18'' of ground clearance. Intent is to be able to easily tackle forest roads and easy trails. Anything more than that and I will leave the trailer at the trail head or leave it at home and mount the tent to the truck.

Goal is under $1,000 and 1,000 pounds for "phase one". Phase two will include electrical and water systems, stabilizer jacks, etc.

24' sticks and 2 4'x8' sheets of 18 gauge loaded up on the Tacoma.

I suck at spray paint and the spray paint my wife selected ("sparkly blue") does not want to cooperate. Will probably end up getting it painted professionally in a bit; or just bed lining the while thing.

Picking up some more steel soon to build the lids and tent rack.

Trailer tows nice, will get it plated Monday.
