That's because it's photochopped with my finger. It wouldn't actually be that big. I wanted to cover the chrome surround because it's fugly.

I don't mind chrome on some trucks. But the chrome on that new grill makes it look like it has chrome inner labia.

Might as well just delete this section or put it in the thread of legends.

The front end wouldn't look so bad if they took out the black undercut area from the bumper. I can live with large grill, but the nbumper needs a serious make over. Hopefully the trds and sr5 have a different bumper.

You do see the roofline, window lines and overall cab and bed designs I'm seeing right? It's the gen 2 tacoma with redesigned panels and I'm sure of course redesigned interior, but a gen 2 all the same. I'm just saying... I'm looking at this pictures and I see a gen 2. I'm betting, if I'm right, that the only had to retool for the panel moldings and new interior. The frame and cab stayed the same. I'm guessing it's getting the reworked v6 and drivetrain that the 4Runner which is still based in the current tacoma.
They didn't even put disc brakes in the rear from looking at this pictures... Wtf?

Hey, I really really hope I'm wrong. Like I said, I sold my 2012 3 weeks ago to be ready a pull the trigger on this whenever it becomes available. My tacoma was my 2nd car so I maximized my resale on it and I'm ready to get this new one... I'm just VERY concerned with What I'm looking at so far. I want to be wrong because I'll feel real dumb selling my 2012 if I'm right.

Spot on, people aren't taking the time to examine the photos, mule spy shots, etc. Its essentially the same damn truck with a major reskin and hopefully an updated transmission (spy mule shots) and maybe new engine but wont hold my breath after seeing the new exterior photos. I bet the seats are the same, the door panels very similar, maybe update looking dash with some new gizmos, but same suspension, same brakes, same frame, same cab, same electrical, etc. Toyota has been doing this with the corolla, the tundra, the camry and the 4runner, kinda sad, makes me that much less worried about my 15 purchase. Don't get me wrong they are great trucks but this is still at its heart a 2nd gen.

Looking at the bed pics and tailgate section. So far everything matches to what the 2nd gen has so far.... tailgate hardware, door striker, and cable. Just gotta get the dimension of the bed and tailgate to make sure.

It's just tht after 10 years this is not enough.

The gen1 was redesigned after about 10 years considering it was based on the previous Toyota pick up truck anyway, they just started calling it a tacoma in 2001 when they redesigned it, but it was the same truck as previous years, redesigned.... But after 10 years the 2nd generation tacoma showed up and it was in fact a brand new truck! I mean, new... It would have new dimensions at least, and new Frame, cab, interior structure/dimensions, engine tranny etc.

This time, they did the redesign at 2012 and I thought "ah! Same thing they did with the 2001! That means in about 3-4 years well have the brand new NEW generation 3 tacoma. Instead, from what I'm seeing so far, and I could be horribly wrong, we get a heavily redesigned gen 2 Tacoma...

So are you gonna get back out there and get a 2015 before the 2016 takes over the lots?

Can you imagine if they did make the overall truck 3" or 4" longer ?

Instead of the regular DCSB vs DCLB tampon sessions we would also have the S(hort)DCSB vs the L(ong)DCSB and SDCLB vs LDCLB debates

    oh joy

This. It also makes for a nice grip when opening and closing. Every other truck has it and I don't know why the 2nd gen didn't.
How deeps your wallet? My PayPal balance says it gets better than 2nd gen.
