I took the 2016 Tacoma leaked images, and decided I'd see if I could make it appeal more to myself. The new front end is 'eh' at best in my opinion.

(Bigger and more hunched forward grille, smoked headlamps, color coded side mirror, eliminated the grooves on the chin, and cut up that bar under the grille into two fog lights and a thin groove like the original 2nd gen, but thinner. I'm sure there are technical reasons for some of those features being on the truck, but this is purely from a theoretical aesthetic perspective.

What are your thoughts on my concept? Sound off in the poll or thread.

Posted in the 2nd gen section  (we have a 3rd gen section for the new tacoma)

I'm curious to see how people are going to mount aftermarket bumpers or lights to that front end.

My bad. I haven't been on TW for a long time and assumed its still a 2nd gen cause it kind of is.

    Good point!

I went with somewhat A only because I'm fine with the grille not being hunched forward. All the other changes look great. Nice job, OP.

Thanks man! What's an auto air dam?

EDIT: Googled it and now I know what you mean. Yeah I wanted to get rid of that, but it would have been too big of a photoshop job to fill in all that stuff behind it lol

trend auto was reference to silly thread here about some overpriced crap on ebay and some dude that may or may not work for them that was angling for douche king ban..........

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/358215-very-confused.html

For the 3rd gen's sake, I hope people step up to do something better for the grill and bumper and also the fugly tails on this beast. Wheels/tires/suspension can always improve the thing. Also curious about what has been done inside. Haven't seen or heard much about that yet, or the drivetrain choices, if there are any. If you shop off the air dam and shop on a TRD skid it'd make a nice difference IMO.

The tube/plate bumper makers are going to have their work cut out for them on this new design with the size of the grill and how high the bumper comes up.

I was really hoping the new truck would look similar to the new 4Runner. :(

Still hate the grill! But the one you did at least blends in and looks OK if you like the look. The factory one looks like they built the front clip and then sort of pasted a big ass grill on it. No flow, looks like an add on to me....so definitely A.

I'm going with A - the slot under the grill on B reminds me of a dog chewing on the arm attached to the hand that fed it!

A, looks so much better without the grille between the foglamps.

Thanks guys!!! Yeah I hate that slot connecting the fogs too! And the chin looks bad in my opinion.

As long as I tend to keep Toyota's, I am probably driving the last one I'll need to buy anyway... I don't care. :)

To me the new front bumper looks like they drove it into a split rail fence that only had the lower rail. Really a non-appealing design to me.

I actually like B, I think the lower grill would look good with a led light bar. I'm also accounting for this being the limited version, and hoping the TRD versions are chrome-less. Also would be sweet if Toyota did factory "BHLM" to the TRDs.

Also I would rip off the black air dam and add a skid plate.

The one you edited looks so much better than the actual 2016. Not a huge fan of the front end at all of the 16 though. I like that fact that they're updating the features and the interior styling but the body is terrible. The cab design is pretty close to the 2nd gens but the rear bumper is ugly as well as the nose. The rear bumper looks way too thin and almost cheap looking in a way.
