Is the FJ coming back?

 

The weird thing the FJ is still up on Toyotas website I think....

 

Probably not, the FJ is no more.

 

I know but the last time Toyota cancelled a vehicle (matrix) it was gone within a couple weeks of being cancelled.

 

I know everybody keeps saying its the same cab because they don't want to admit it but at this angle. The 3rd gen cab looks shorter, roofline is closer to bed and longer, rear door especially the glass looks longer.

 

They don't want to admit what. Its the same cab. I'll put money on it come monday.

I love how those two pictures are the comparison pictures and the 2nd Gen pic is shot from closer to the rear so obviously roof angles are going to look different. Come on now.

 

I sure hope the rear seat has more room than the current DC

 

I've been screaming that since I tried to get in to the back of the '14. If I can't fit, my kids won't fit (they're taller - little bastards).

Sucks to be tall and suffer Tacoma Lust.

 

Exactly my thoughts. I love the tacoma but in 2012 i had to to with the 4runner just because the space in the back seat of the Tacoma was very tight

 

Actually, he might be on to something. I think the cab is the same but the BOX might be slightly deeper? Either that or the rear window on the 3rd gen goes lower.

 

The box is taller, like on all new trucks.

 

Which is keeping me from buying the Taco as well. I sat in the new Colorado, and it does have enough room (about the same as my 04 4runner). Not impressed with the problems the new owners of the GM twins are having though. Windshield not sealing so large amounts of water getting in, steering wheel off center from factory, climate control and radio controls that dont respond, etc. I know that it is a new vehicle for them, but that is just crappy QC.

The Colorado I test drove was sweet though! I like it a lot. By next fall hopefully those issues will be resolved, and then it will be a fight between the Chevy and Toyota.

 

Those are a little better pics than MotorTrend. The 7-pin tow connection is nice, I wonder if there will be towing mirrors. If the top motor is indeed 270hp/248 torque it won't be able to tow worth a damn though. Even if the top motor is 270hp/290 torque that's still a wee bit underpowered.

 

Too late seeings how TW has been hollering for it since it debuted in 2010. Until they're through with it in the Tundra the Tacoma won't get it, the bums. I know it would fit. If a 4.7l fits into a 1st Gen Tundra (which is roughly the same dimensions within an inch or two), then a 4.6 would fit into the Tacoma.

 

There's that little part of me that hopes they didn't change the suspension or engine so I can put my LT and S/C on it lol
