Sorry guys, had to stay late at work :(

I was really hoping to see options for running boards/steps on tacos and maybe try getting in/out of trucks with steps

    Hey guys,

Pretty new to TW, lifting my truck on the 20th and figured you all would know where some trails are. Live in Fairfax. Any info would help. Thanks!

Welcome! I posted a link in post #5718 on the previous page for a site that shows trails for every state. There is also Red Cloud Off Road park in Woodbrige but they are a little pricey.

    What kind of lift?

Thanks! Just starting out with the mods, so I went with the 5100's on all 4's, toytec 3" w/Eibach coils and the toytec AAL on the rear. Already have the BFgoodrich AT's. Not much, but it's a start.

Ahh you should have waited for Bilstein to release the new 6112s this month! I was going to get a full OME lift but am waiting to see how these new Bilsteins are.

I MIGHT be heading out to the Peters Mill Run trail this Sunday if you are interested.

Trust me I was definitely considering that, but how much more are they going to be? Nice, haven't looked at the trails yet, where is that and would my non-lifted taco be able to handle it?

Pricing is still up in the air but they are obviously going to be a bit more than the 5100s. Performance on them is supposed to be great though.

Peters Mill Run is right near Edinburg, VA which is just over an hour drive from Fairfax going 66 west then 81 south. I ran the trail a few weeks ago with my brother. I have a stock 14 Tacoma with off-road package and he has a stock 12 Dodge Ram 4x4. Neither of us had any trouble at all. There are a few obstacles along the trail (off to the sides) that are a bit more challenging, but the trail itself is relatively easy. 8 miles of scenic beauty!

If we do decide to go out there on Sunday we will probably leave around 9 or 10am. Passes for the trail are only $5 and we get them at a local gas station .

I'd be down for Peters mill next time up. Got specifics on it, GPS coords?

Here is a link with the Lat on Long coordinates: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/gwj/recreation/ohv/recarea/?recid=73883&actid=93

Those trails will be closing on Monday Jan 19 and won't be reopened until March. That's why my brother and I are thinking about doing one last run for the season.

Are there any obstacles? The vids I saw are of dirt roads, stock Cherokee, minivans, and priuses

Sounds good to me man...I'll see if a buddy would want to go and let you know. Are you in Fairfax as well?

Awesome! Check out the pics on my profile and all of the ones on the dirt trail are from Peters Mill Run.

I'm in Centreville right off of Union Mill. Very close to Fairfax though.

It's mostly just a dirt/rock trail with mild hills and puddles. There are a few obstacles along the way on the side of the main trail. Looks like mostly ATV trails but you get get a Tacoma on there if you have a good lift and larger tires and don't mind some tree branches rubbing a bit.
